Scott arfield is taking over the park bar on Paisley road west, bar 442, another good boozer for pre and post match beers.

Mind he tried open the bookies i.e. original Rangers shop but think council knocked it back.

Absolutely superb news that Scotty Arfield has bought the Park Bar in Paisley Road West, after twice getting knocked back for the old Ladbrokes at the corner of the Copland Road, where he wanted to open a sports bar. I wish Arf all the very best in his new pub business venture when he gets into his new surroundings, which he's naming 442.
? ?? A fantastic guy who deserves all the luck in the world and a superb goal scoring midfielder. ? ?? Will certainly be visiting that pub, that's for sure. ?

Good luck to him. Renting a pub would be near the very bottom of my list on how to make some money.

Three Cheers, Scotty Arfield has actually bought the pub/bar according to the report, mate. ?

Ohh, well who knows Coops, as it was up for lease and owned by Heineken, maybe they decided to sell it.

Annual rent for the property is more than £35, 000, with a 25 per cent discount on the first year. Its estimated annual turnover is almost £500, 000. Why is this in the story if he "bought" it?

It's a mystery fork. ?

The exact purchase price paid by Scott Arfield for the former Park Bar (now Bar 442) has not been made public. However, recent reports from April 2026 provide several financial details regarding the venue's operation:
Annual Rent: The property carries an annual rent of more than £35, 000.
Rental Discount: Arfield reportedly secured a 25% discount on the rent for his first year of occupancy.
Seems conflicting info, either way gd luck to him.

I suppose it could be a good omen for him, with the property's address door number being 442 and the obvious football formation connection.
He is going to need to work very hard to make a success of it, and I hope that he does.

Good luck, pub ventures have never ended well for ex footballers/managers. Can't recall any being a resounding success. Even Sir Walter ventured into it and didn't last long.

The Park Bar is a pub in Paisley Road West. I never frequented. ? For you guys that's been in Park Bar, was it a good pub/bar originally? ? I will most definitely be going in for a few refreshments now that Scotty Arfield has now bought the pub/bar. ???
10 Apr 2026 13:41:32
So why's he paying rent. ??
10 Apr 2026 14:23:46
Fork, maybe because he is the tenant and not the owner, mate?
10 Apr 2026 15:24:05
I know that Thornton, but Coops is convinced he's bought it, reports are conflicted, why I asked.
10 Apr 2026 15:37:22
It's because the reports I read did state Scotty Arfield had bought the Park Bar, Fork. ? I honestly don't know for definitely mate and only going on what I've read. ?
10 Apr 2026 16:23:30
It's why I'm asking, as all I've seen is he's "bought it" but secured a 25% discount on the rent for his first year of occupancy. So which is it? As posted above.

Purchase vs. Lease: While Arfield has bought the pub business and taken over the property to rebrand it, reports indicate the deal involves an annual rent for the property exceeding £35, 000. This suggests that while Arfield owns the operating business (BAR 442) and likely the fixtures and goodwill, the freehold ownership of the building itself may still belong to a third party (a landlord), to whom the rent is paid.
