Away from divisive debates I have one question.
Can everyone name the best football match they have experienced outwith your home nation.
For me it has to be Flamengo vs Botafogo at the maracana.

Roma versus Lazio. Aphelion, great experience, mate. Seen most big derbies: Barca, Madrid, Liverpool, Everton, Arsenal, Spurs, Manchester. Looking forward to the Newcastle versus Sunderland on Sunday, that's a great experience as well.

Lazio v AC Milan. When I was in Rome, I was right next to away fans and across from Lazio ultras, or whatever they are called, and the atmosphere was great. AC Milan got beat 4-0, and fans never stopped bouncing and singing for the full game.

btw, Kaiser, my wife has told me what an idiot I am, as the second game I went to in Argentina didn't have away fans. I still am sure it did, but they were banned, it appears, as you say.
We were in the main stand that day, probably because of that ban. Oops.
The first one was a long time ago, in 2004, when the fans were still allowed in.

I blamed the red wine, my wife blames my age and the fact I never pay attention to the guide. My excuse was I watched the game whilst she doesn't like football, so I spent the whole time watching the crowd. ?
I have a few mates who have done a few games in Italy.
When we visited Florence one of our group went to the match. He loved it and raved about it for rest of holiday. I always feel bad going when I am on holiday, unless it is part of the trip.

We were supposed to be going down for the Tyne/Weir derby early on Sunday, my star, but a family occasion has put paid to that, mate, so like yourself I'll watch it on the telly and then be out for a family meal on Sunday evening. ? I was looking forward to going to our game the morra evening and then down to St.
James' on Sunday morning, but I will enjoy our family meal and I'm on holiday on Monday. ? Well, my star, I think the 'Toon' will get revenge on their 1-0 defeat they suffered at the Stadium of Light earlier in the season. ? I'm going 2-0 for Newcastle, with Anthony Gordon to score anytime. ?

I was lucky enough to live just outside Rome for a few years, and the Roma-Lazio games were always a bit tasty. Although they share the Stadio Olympico, the home team gets 3/4 of the allocation and the atmosphere is always brilliant.

Aphe the best steak I have ever tasted in my life and who doesn't like a good Malbec. Buenos Aires is still the best city I have visited in my life. But all of this is personal and it might not be the same for everyone.
