Will start this off by saying, I'm in no way am suggesting that Rohl isn't the right man to take us forward.
That being said, he has to hold his hands up and take most of the blame for that result. Bad selection, tactics all wrong and baffling subs. Will caveat that by saying the players are also to blame as nobody took charge and showed game management.
Now Rohl can't and shouldn't be going into a game and trying to defend a 1 nil lead, as we have shown time and time again that we can't defend and have relied on Butland saving us on many occasions.
I understand Motherwell play some nice stuff but we are Rangers and to be made look like the hammer throwers we have so often referred to when playing league games, was utterly embarrassing.
Now with a few of his own signings, I am still stumped as to our style of play. Seems non existent to me. Now is this because Rohl keeps changing shape and drastically altering line ups?
Now I'd like to finish by saying I am tired of hearing the player management argument, we start our best 11 every single game unless of course they are not fit enough. But for those that use this excuse, explain how we start a striker that's been out injured yet he is thrown straight back in and lasts till 84 minutes. I'm not one for looking elsewhere but go and look back at Celtic/Hearts line ups week in week out and you will see a core of the 11 being the same with the odd player rotated in and out.
I am just skunnert with back to back awful away performances and these are games we need to be winning if we want to win a title.

Our defence is the best in the league. The problem is not killing games. Defence gets the blame for everything. It's not easy letting a good team attack you for 80 mins and not concede.

He has made a few mistakes, but generally he has done well.
Who doesn't make mistakes at work? At least we have gotten a point from the game at Motherwell. I'm sure a load of fans would have taken a draw before it started.
The likes of Chermiti need to be dropped. Gassama needs to come off the bench about 60-70 mins. Aasgaard. Nothing else to say.

Ryan, our defence is the best in the league due to the amount of times Butland has saved us. I think if you look up how many chances we give up, you'll find a different story. Our defence is easily cut open, and it happens in every game. Poor finishing and great goalkeeping is what makes it seem better than it actually is.
Yeah, Ally, my point, he has done very well to get us to this position, but he needs to start treating every game as a must win and kill games off instead of trying to defend a 1-0 against 10 men.
I'm sure he will learn from this.
Gassama would never start a game for me and should always be an impact sub until he starts showing what he is capable of consistently.

When you play 2 games a week, rotation is mandatory. Players cannot perform twice a week for 60 games at their highest level. It's just not possible, and I understand the frustration at not starting the strongest 11, but you have to do it.
It's also something that we have done throughout DR's tenure whilst getting back into the mix this season.
The starting line up also put us in a winning position last night, and but for a last minute goal, we would have won the game.
We have also picked up about 30 points defending narrow leads under DR, without which we would probably still be in the bottom half of the league where we sat when he came in. So I don't see how he can be criticised for that when it's been so important in getting us back into a title fight.
We still have a third of the season to go, buddy. We have better players to come into the team and are in a great position.
Our opposition done well to pick up their points this round of matches, but Hearts were terrible against Hibs and have not looked good in recent weeks. A good Celtic team would have looked to improve goal difference last night rather than scrape a fortune win against one of the worst teams to play in our league for some time.
I still rate our chances very high, but it won't be easy, and there will be twists and turns, and the twists will have turns, and the turns will have twists. It's how tight title fights go, and I am so excited and nervous for every game. For me, its what football is all about, and after so long I am loving it.

Rangers have conceded 19, Motherwell 18, so no, we're not the best in the league.

Tommy, I understand the need for rotation, of course, but constantly making so many changes upsets the balance and rhythm that our players develop. Hence why I made the point that our 2 biggest rivals have a core that very rarely changes game to game. So the excuse doesn't sit right with me, but it's just my opinion.
That's great that we have so many points defending narrow leads, but in how many of those games has Butland pulled off numerous top class saves to keep that lead? Now, if that goes the other way, we will drop more points, as I will reiterate our defence does very little to protect Butland and is sliced open in every single game, and usually numerous times.
The difference in what you say there is that a good Celtic team would have looked at scoring more, but more importantly is a poor Celtic team still turned a bad game into 3 points. That's the difference. When we look good, the last 2 games, and score plenty, but when we are not at it, we look like dropping points all the time.

Bbj, so has the Motherwell keeper not been in some way responsible for them having the best defence in the league?
It has been asked before, do you want to allow a manager to pick the team he thinks is best and strongest for the game, or the one the fans think is the best and strongest? They will be different at times, as he knows who is fit, who can play 2 games in 3 days when coming back from injury.
Re title, it is 50/50, and it will be tight right up till the end.
However, I can see the start of the slippery slope for the manager with fans. Got selection wrong, can't see system or tactics, said something in press conference. We can't keep going on the same slope, sack the manager, and expect to win leagues.
If we happen not to win league, I hope the board/owners give him time and money to improve us further for next season.

I get it, Jim, and like you, I was gutted with the starting line up. I am struggling massively with Meghoma and Tav every time they play, if I'm honest. They are just so vulnerable defensively, I hold my breath when the ball is in their area.
Our opposition are doing what you want, but at what cost? Hearts have lost 2 key players to injury, and Celtic lost their best player this season to injury last night. If we played Rommens and Sterling last night and both got injured, it would be way worse than the last minute equaliser imo.
There is a long way to go, and we will see a starting 11 develop over the next few weeks now that the schedule allows for it.
I think we have the best squad and am still confident we win the league.
I do blame the manager for last night, but in the bigger picture, he has done unbelievably well to get a group of players most of us were starting to hate into our position. He won't get everything right, and he won't have to!
As long as he keeps getting as much as he has done right up to now, we will be there or thereabouts come the end of the season.

Angus, I have no idea if the Motherwell keeper has kept them in games or not, as the only time I see them play is against us. I can only base my opinion on what I watch of Rangers, and we all know we get cut open very easily and have relied on Butland more than we would like.
I think you missed where I put, Rohl will learn from this, and I still have great confidence that he is the right man to take us forward.
I'm 50/50 on our chances, as we still have our biggest rivals to play, and they have Motherwell too.
I'm in no way wanting Rohl sacked if we don't win the title. Then, aye, he needs backing fully so he get's a fair crack at it next year.
But make no mistake, we can't have back to back results away from home like Hibs/Motherwell, where we were clearly the worst team and lucky to even get a point.
My post isn't a doom and gloom, and we can come on here and praise a manager when he does well (Celtic away), but we are also allowed to question his thought process when he got it wrong (Hibs/last night).
