Maswahise on the score sheet after 5min. Why we don't test Motherwell's resolve is madness in my opinion. Sometimes you need to buy tactically. If he's ours he can't score against us.
31 Jan 2026 15:25:09
Boy will end up at Celtic
31 Jan 2026 15:27:36
Jasper, because quite clearly Danny Rohl prefers other targets and isn't interested in maswanhise mate, clear as day ? We can't sign everyone and players some supporters want ?
31 Jan 2026 15:28:29
But when he's Motherwells he can score against all our rivals.
Regardless of current form if he does not fit the profile then we won't sign.
31 Jan 2026 15:29:33
Definitely but some think because he is at Motherwell it's a problem, it isn't
31 Jan 2026 15:32:42
Scored 2 now
31 Jan 2026 15:38:10
Jasper how much do you bid to force Motherwell's hand. I am using Bowie's 7M price as a gauge so you know. not disagreeing just wondering what that price would be for their only player who is scoring.
31 Jan 2026 15:38:56
2 goals now, would be a risk but one worth taking imo - depending on price though
31 Jan 2026 15:47:10
A player in the correct team scoring goals even at 4 mill we would make money on him easily
31 Jan 2026 15:48:03
3.5 m I think would get him.
31 Jan 2026 15:56:52
We have been caught out in the past with players from within our league, Shankland being the prime example. It's plain to see the lad knows where the goals are, how does that not fit our system? Its a punt worth taking in my opinion.
31 Jan 2026 16:01:28
Angus, he's on TransferMarkt valued at £700k. If Motherwell think he's valued at £7M and no bids go in for him because of that valuation, then Motherwell will find themselves having to pay him a £7M players wages down the line. Its a double edged sword for them. Blackburn Rovers are supposed to be ready to offer £1.5M.
31 Jan 2026 16:03:25
Perhaps MWell have made it clear they not selling so nothing else being said. I'd love him and really hope he doesn't end up at Celtic. Laughable reports Blackburn want him for £1.5m.
31 Jan 2026 16:08:59
I don't see how he can't fit the profile of what we are looking for. a versatile attacker who can play anywhere across the front 3 or even in the 10 if needed. Surely this level of versatility is needed and for folk saying he won't do it with us because teams sit in,they sit in against Motherwell as well because they're football is amazing.
he's suited for a fast paced forward moving team, that's what we're aiming to be. It's a no brainer for me. Give them 3m plus Nsiala, done deal
31 Jan 2026 16:13:57
Jasper they won't have to up his wages unless someone bids £7m and highest so far seems to be £1.5 m from Blackburn which was turned down. Not saying he is worth £7m but surely given the Bowie price Motherwell would be saying if they do sell it needs to be silly money.
13 goals but only 4 of them against top 6 teams (I know he was at AFCON) 1 vs Hearts and Falkirk and 2 versus Hibs.
Just think the club have seen something which is stopping them from bidding. might be a conversation has taken place the price is too high and we walked away.
31 Jan 2026 16:35:28
I'm been crying out for Maswanhise for months, but if our club doesn't want him am fine with that.
31 Jan 2026 16:40:12
Baxter,
Can't see it. Their so called cash rich status isn't exactly being reflected by purchase. While we're on move with what seem excellent buys they've done hee haw and don't look like either. I'm optimistic. If Chermiti goes for tidy profit it's done deal.
31 Jan 2026 16:57:10
Motherwell are in no immediate financial danger.
They won't sell him for 4/5 now when they know if he keeps scoring they'll get more in the summer and with him they have a better chance of qualifying for European Football.
The days of Rangers pinching players from our league are gone. They know they'll get better money elsewhere.
The evidence is there Miovski, Ferguson, Miller, Bowie to name a few. Rangers might be the be all and end all to you but to players not brought up supporting Rangers they'll go where the money is especially if their family is poor.
And quite right as well it's a short career.
31 Jan 2026 17:52:10
Not the profile yet……exactly the profile described by our very own manager in multiple interviews….Naderi is further from the profile that Danny Rohl described……a lot further.
31 Jan 2026 18:52:17
Lmac good post.
Coully correct Maswanhise seems to fit a profile mentioned.the balance is can he perform against low blocks; would the weight of the jersey and price tag affect him; would fans expectations cause issue. also the competition here is greater for a place out wide. ASO seems to have RW tied up; Rohl wants a forward to hold ball up and link play (hence the reason we are going for Naderi?) so centre isn't use. that leaves LW.
31 Jan 2026 21:38:22
Here's the thing regardless of the clamour for Maswanhise, are we actually in for him or is it just the fans think we are/should be, do we have concrete evidence we are, anyone?
