Some thoughts based on the match last night (Porto v Rangers) :
- Curtis should be playing ahead of Mikey Moore. Curtis is our player and we need to prioritise his development. Mikey Moore is not our player and we shouldn't be giving him minutes ahead of Curtis. Moore has played a lot of football this season and his end product is lacking. Curtis seems to have a much better end product for me, and he looks hungry to succeed.
- This one will be controversial because everyone is raw about last night defeat. However, I would give James Tavernier another one year deal. The players and manager have spoken very highly of him in recent weeks. He is our top scorer, great delivery from set-pieces, consistently scores from the spot, always fit and available, etc. In the SPFL against lesser sides that sit back he can still be an asset for us. I would bring another RB in during the summer who is more solid defensively and can rotate with Tavernier. So if we need someone more defensive in Europe, against Celtic, or are looking to see out a game we have the defensive option. I know many will point to Sterling as that option but he seems to have real issues with injuries.
- This team needs a striker that can hold the ball up, link platy, and score goals. Without that we might not win this league. It's vital that we find someone who can put the ball in the net and I'm sure that will happen.
- We clearly need a number 6. This lad at Motherwell Elliot Watt would be absolutely perfect for us. He could help protect this defense, and he would allow the more attacking central midfielders we have to get forward. He bossed it against Celtic and looks as if he can make the step up. He is the one making that Motherwell team tick.

He is in his mid 20s and has had the first good 6 months of his career.
He was deemed not good enough by Burton Albion.
We need better because in my opinion he doesn't get in our midfield ahead of anyone.
We need to upgrade with a top 6.

Tav great delivery, it's laughable now, a two year old could cross better, he may have stuck around but he's garbage, the penalty stats make him out to be better than he is, that's why no team has wanted him.

In agree we should keep Curtis and give him starts. if he isn't getting starts though he is better on loan and playing 90 minutes. I would prefer it was abroad granted as it will help him develop as a person as well as a player being away from home
No way would I give Tavs another deal. his time has come to an end; thank him for his service and move on.
We have a striker that can hold the ball up and link play. he isn't in the box for chances as we down create many for him.
if we do we can then judge on that. Perhaps a more experienced option may help him develop though.
I agree with Aphe. Watt has doe nothing so far in his career to show he would be an upgrade on the midfield we have. would he take the place of Raskin in anyone's opinion. If the answer is no then we ned better to compete with him for that place, I think what we lack in MF is that create player to pick a pass through a defence for our forwards.

Exactly My Star, look at the early career of Antoine Semenyo as an example, not too impressive but look where he is now. I've said before Watt would be a great signing for us, Has impressed me every time I've seen him play.

Nothing to lose by keeping Tav another year. Well said, it's a squad game and just getting rid of guys with that amount of experience and the qualities he brings is not the way forward.

Absolutely agree regarding Curtis. He's our player so should be the one we're developing most, and Moore whilst he has been good at times hasn't exactly shown he deserves to play ahead of him all the time.
Can't agree about Tav tho. It's sad watching his decline and this season must be his last.
I like Watt but don't think he's better than we have like Barron when fit. Harsh just to look at his Burton days for example because he wasn't exactly playing with good players around him. Would prefer an upgrade rather than another squad player tho.

My opinion is he is enjoying a purple patch in his career for the first time and still I don't believe he is better than Raskin, Diomande, Tochi, Barron.
He is playing well but let's see how he is when he comes back from injury.

This isn't a new thing saying we don't create enough we have been saying it for a few seasons at least. The problem with Chermiti is he isn't getting into the positions to score yes he is improving but he hasn't got the killer instinct for a goalscoring striker.
I can't believe they are still people wnsying to give Tav a new deal but hey Ho entitled to their opinion. I just hope Rohl doesn't see it that way.

Aphelion so you must be telling us Watt hasn't improved at Motherwell, even when you really have no clue on that.
I was concerned with his wage and not getting used in Germany, a massive difference in the situations here, clearly you can't see that.

With regards to the Moore/Curtis conundrum, we can actually play both.
IMO Moore has been most effective when given that free role in behind the striker. He has the engine in him to covering that massive space between both wings and drive in when the likes of Chermiti hold the ball up.
Curtis can also play this role, I think it would be his preferred option, but I question his engine. He needs to develop a bit more into that style of player. We could play him on either wing, although from what I've seen of him he operates better on the left wing cutting inside.
Then on the right we play Skov Olsen.
It puts the likes of Gassama, Antman and Bajrami out of place but they are players we should probably be accepting offers for if the moneys right.

I think watt would be a very good squad option to have but I wouldn't be moving tik summer.
I think we're pretty well set in mf for now. We may even bring a 6 in now too so I wouldn't be moving keep monitoring watt as I think he's a very good player.
I'd be happy to watch watt and Maswanhise tik summer but more so Maswanhise.

Funny thing is storm pulls star up for continually having a go at Aphe when he does the same to me and several others.
it is possible to defend every player as they all have merits which I choose to look at; those usually far outweigh the down side.
I think if you dropped a 50p and found a £20 you would moan to your mates all weekend about losing the 50p. different viewpoint on life that is all it is. an explanation btw as I feel no need to apologise for my positive outlook.
