Someone on here suggested that we would be bringing in an experienced number 6 player that would potentially be a future captain of oir club. Is it possible that player is Neil Dan from Sunderland. Does anyone know how good this lad is and coerect me if i'm wrong about the possible future captain bit.

Cmac it was also that he would really excite us. Neil is a good player but not sure he does that to me at least.

Personally i'd prefer the danish midfielder silas andersen over dan neil as our new no.6 but i like dan neil also ?I know that the mob across the city are allegedly interested in andersen also ?.

The way John was talking I would assume that its definitely not Dan Neil from Sunderland. Does not fit the wow factor or captain material that John had alluded to.

Cmac, Dan Neil is a very good footballer mate, played over 200 game's for Sunderland, captain the last a couple of seasons and only just turned 24, best cm they had in the promoted team last season, just can't see us getting him, clubs from the EPL, Italy, Germany are chasing him, but would love it if we could manage it, he has good technical ability and a pure workhorse in the middle of the park, watched him play must be over 20 times in the flesh.

Cmac and something some mind find interesting, was only told over the weekend, Niel has been at a good few Rangers games over the years, if we do sign him it's guaranteed he mentions this.

Would James Ward Prowse have the wow factor? Someone compared the possible signing to the rumour earlier about Jordan Henderson and this would be similar I think.

Star we aren't saying he isn't a good player, just that he doesn't provide that wow factor which was spoken about. if we got him I would be okay with it but isn't the star signing which was spoken about. also word is we will be surprised by next signing after Skov Olsen, which I suspect is the number 6, is that Neil for you?

Angus Niel is a player I rate highly, loved the job he done at Sunderland mate, you will not get one Sunderland supporter not praising him, that should tell you something.

Dan Neil one of the reasons Sunderland are where they are, fans love him and always gives his all,, manager bought Xhaka for that position and has been brilliant for them to be fair which has kept him out but with his contract out in summer is def one I would like, he's first team ready for us and only 24 ticks a lot of boxes.

Agreed 100% Cooper, Sunderland didn't have him in the middle of the park they wouldn't even have made the play offs, outstanding in that promotion team.
