Interest in 2 loan signings from Sunderland. Not sure how many more we are allowed though. The names mentioned are Dan Neil and a winger named Mundle. Neil was captain last year and has 178 appearances at the age of 24 for his boyhood team.

I can't remember spfl rules, but I think 5 or 6 loans in one season, but players under 21 are different. we could have 11 loan players under 21 years old. Moore and Meghoma are exempt from rules. I think this include our loans out in a season. example 3 players in on loan and 3 out. The rules are like tax, always changing.

6 players in and 6 out generally. age doesn't matter unless they are academy then they don't count in that figure (think John and I worked this out last time it was asked). Whine I think you are looking at the cooperation agreements between Scottish clubs, e.
g where we have that arrangement with Raith when you mention the 11.
so we already have 5 loans but we weren't sure if Moore still counted although I don't think he is an academy player. However if club are trying to get 2 loans then it seems they would know better than me.

Its 6 loans and we have 5 do if we want both of these boys then i'd assume we might cancel someone's loan, most likely Djiga, especially if we can sign a CB in the window.

Angus I think u r correct. If we don't cancel a loan appears we r only allowed one more.
However remember the sfa make it up as they go along, as do spfl.

For the 2025/26 SPFL season, loan rules are more flexible due to a new Cooperation System for 16-21-year-old Scottish-eligible players, allowing them to move between parent and partner clubs for development, while standard loan limits are generally around six players (in/out), but young players in the U21 bracket often bypass these overall FIFA limits, allowing clubs like Falkirk to use more than six total loans, with specific limits of around three loans/cooperation agreements between any two clubs.
Standard Loan Limits: FIFA's general rule caps a club at six loan players in and six out, but the new system provides exemptions for the U21 youth players.
Club-to-Club Limits: Within the cooperation system, clubs can share a maximum of five players, with a split of up to three on loan and three on cooperation agreements (or vice versa) between them.
In Simple Terms:
Clubs can use standard loans (max 6 in/out, with U21s often exempt) AND the new system for young talent, which allows for more fluid movement between a senior club and a development partner, with specific limits on how many players can be shared between those two clubs.
Cooperation System
A major innovation allowing players aged 16-21, eligible for Scotland, to move more freely between a parent club and a lower-league "cooperation" club for increased game time.

Just to clarify which I said a number of weeks ago
Mikey Moore does count as a loan as he's cross border.
