Am replying to the chat regarding Aasgaard. For me he obviously has talent but for me he should never play for Rangers again the reason for this he always chooses the lazy option and never accepts responsibility that's 2 old firm games he would have been sent off in had he continued to play beyond half time. When a talk about lazy its ever decision he makes off the ball. there was a moment in the first half when he tries to pass his man to Sterling on the edge of the box because he didn't want to track the run any more the look Sterling gave him afterwards was certainly something.

As a say even the yellow card was brought on by pure laziness. Didn't move the ball qick enough them just pulled the guy back in full knowledge he's getting a yellow card. When someone makes decisions like he does every time he is playing for himself and not the team in my opinion.

The boy has some talent but not the attributes I want in a Rangers player, I'd prefer him to move on.

I agree, he is so far off the pace it's unbelievable, looks like a deer caught in the headlights, I wonder why the manager played him, it was clear a more defensive and experienced Diomande was perfect for this game.

100% move on, had high hopes for him but let's face facts the guys a passenger.

Not so sure I agree with you on this. He clearly has a problem with the pace of the game here and as follows his decision making has not been quick enough. He has talent and in a slower league like the one he came from, his technical ability shines through. He does need to work harder and I think with proper coaching, his decision making will improve and he'll be able to find that forward pass/movement we need from him.

You could see during the Motherwell and St Mirren games, his movement was better and both of those teams are playing good, rapid football this year so maybe there's hope for him. I'd also say better players than him have played poor against Celtic so.

Don't really like all these ifs, but, maybe surrounding Sterling, I'll wait for club statement but since all is silence perhaps not straightforward.

Any player gets longer than a few months from myself.

06 Jan 2026 07:33:24
I think Aasgaard found his level down south. He has shown one or two moments of talent but has been unable to consistently perform due to struggling with the step up. I think we are better with a midfield 3 and without a 10. He's becoming a liability in big games.

06 Jan 2026 07:53:33
A step up? sometimes sense will come from you Coldo but I've been waiting for a while mind you.

06 Jan 2026 08:05:07
Your really are just silly comparing our league with a league levels up.

06 Jan 2026 08:08:18
I'd 100% give him another season! He's got all physical and Technical attributes just needs to learn as Chermiti has! work hard the rest follows.

06 Jan 2026 08:41:56
only thing I have to say further about Aasgaard is Yousef Chermiti. what did fans think of him and how has that worked out. Chermiti starting to show he is decent; Aasgaard just needs more time.
you could say on Saturday that manager sold him down river by playing the system he did which made him look bad. in fact not just me but manager kind of said that himself

oh and it is common practice that if your player goes into another's space and he isn't marking you pass him on. as an example if their player on LW moves across to RW do you expect our RB to follow them all the way across or pass him on?

My star who is cold this week.

06 Jan 2026 09:04:59
I can tell within a few games if a player will make it at Rangers. I have not been wrong over the last few years.

06 Jan 2026 10:07:19
you only replied to 2 posts so how can you be wrong over the last few years. which players didn't make it at Rangers that you told us all about?

06 Jan 2026 10:33:11
I never really get this struggling with the pace of the game here. Do players not run in other countries?

06 Jan 2026 11:43:36
Far too many to list.

06 Jan 2026 12:49:44
We are now talking about Aasgaard the way we were taking about Chermiti until last week. He was awful on Saturday and he got himself booked because he was too slow and got caught with the ball but he had scored goals that won us 6 points over the last two games, so he can contribute. Watching the last two games there is no way anybody would have started Diomande in front of him, if Rohl had done that and we went a goal down he would have been getting pelters for doing so.

I suspect if there had been a third option neither of them would have started, I don't know whether Aasgaard has a future at Rangers but he wouldn't be the first player to find the OF games overwhelming at first but came good later.

Erik9 John, I can tell after a few posts it's my stalker mate.

06 Jan 2026 13:10:51

06 Jan 2026 16:40:07
