Storm think you have let yourself down with the "Headless chicken" comment towards Connor Barron. Honestly!

So many players have came here and haven't tried or kicked a ball.

Connor is not only trying he's improving and we have been the biggest club he's been at in his short career he's got a lot of dead wood around him who all seem to have given up.

Barron, Cameron will both be very good players for us especially when we sort out eh rest of the team around then with players willing to fight and play for us
I have no doubt about it.

He's certainly not a headless chicken and no need to bring that comment into the argument you were having to try prove a point.

Barron is not of the required standard if we want a title winning team. He's average at best.

30 Nov 2025 20:26:00
I wasn't Barrons biggest fan last season but he's grown on me this season for sure. Always good to see young scottish players doing well and his call up to the Scotland squad reflects that (despite not getting any mins)

In fairness he does get stuck in and run about all over the shop but maybe he wouldn't have to do it so often if those around him were performing as they should be ?‍♂️.

Agree stig. He is one, if not the only one i'd give pass marks to recently.

30 Nov 2025 22:29:01
Wee Barron is a grafter no doubt about it but having a great engine is great but he does nothing with the ball especially going forward.
How Cameron can't get a game ahead of Aasgaard I'll never know.
We're crying out for a midfielder who makes runs into the box and helps the so called forwards we have.

I actually thought Bajrami played well today and it makes you question why he hasn't been near the team this season.

30 Nov 2025 22:53:17
Good for you stig I stand by it. If we want to win things we need better than Barron. He is a headless chicken. He gives effort and a bit of fight but that is bare minimum at Rangers. That's just my opinion you can have different it's ok. But don't tell me I have let myself
down when I stand by it. Can he improve maybe but I don't see it.

Big dado pass marks for running about like a headless chicken? ?.

So much for all your past chat on here calling folk out when they have made poor remarks towards players and all the talk of backing players

Deary me. ?.

We are lauding a player for doing the bare minimum as a Rangers player.
Fight, determination and getting stuck in.
Which I appreciate.
But the rest of Barron's game is a shambles.
0 goals from midfield.
52% of ground duels won.

40% of aerial duels ( no surprise there! ).
7% accurate crosses.
6 shots at goal in 11 matches.
2 key passes in 11 matches.
If that is the standard of a Rangers midfielder that some are willing to accept, then we are in trouble.

MPH you miss the point completely!

Calling Connor Barron a "headless chicken" is not only unfair it completely ignores what he actually brings to the team.
His game is built on intensity, work rate, and constant movement, which are exactly the qualities that modern midfielders at the highest level are praised for. Players like, McGregor (in his prime) as EHl pointed out or even Ryan Jack were never criticised for covering every blade of grass they were valued for it.
Barron's mobility isn't a flaw; it's a key part of his role in breaking up play, pressing early, and giving us energy in the centre of the park something we've been crying out for.

On top of that, he's young, still settling into the squad, and already showing signs of composure, ambition, and technical improvement. Labelling him as a "headless Chicken" does nothing but damage his confidence and divide the support. Fans should be backing a player who clearly works hard, wants the ball, and plays for the badge. If anything, his work rate should be recognised as a foundation he can build on as he grows into a more polished, experienced midfielder.

calling him a "headless chicken" misses the point his energy is an asset, not a liability, and us supporters should be encouraging his development, not tearing him down.

Give him some more experienced players around him players who actually want to aid his development the same way experienced players did in years gone by. Add in players who want to play for the badge, plus a bit of creativity beside him, and both Barron and Cameron would flourish. So let's stop the ? talk about a boy who genuinely tries for the badge.

If we can't back a young player like Barron and I'll throw Curtis in as well then we might as well shut up shop and go do something else.

Honestly, this place one week: "Let's all back the players who want to play for us. " The next week: "Let's tear them down. " One week it's "Let's look after mental health, " next week it's "Who cares about young players' confidence? " Some folk need to give their heads a right good wobble.

This is why I limit interacting on here these days it's like talking to Jekyll and Hyde with some of the reactions.

Storm i just don't see it that way. I think he's mostly in decent positions to make interceptions and tackles which doesn't correlate with being a headless chicken.
Isnt as bad on the ball as some say he is.

Is Raskin any better on the ball? Debatable.
Hes never going to be a creator that's not his role. Trouble is there's too many who are similar type in midfield.

01 Dec 2025 11:39:42
Cracking post stingo.
Every midfield is far better with a digger in it, remember a massive majority wanted Dessers sold after 6/9 months, now wanting him back, maybe try giving Miovski and Chermiti a bit longer and maybe when sold they'll want them back as well.

01 Dec 2025 11:50:07
It's not a poor remark stig IMO he is a headless chicken. If you think that's good enough for Rangers that's fine, but we ain't gona win things with players like that.

01 Dec 2025 11:53:32
He's 24 years old, Stig.
Over 100 senior appearances.
Not sure getting called a "headless chicken" on a Rangers forum will damage his confidence?
Unless he has an ego that makes him look up what fans think of him?
But I expect more.

Effort is the bare minimum of any player.
Raskin is more talented but right now for me isn't showing the same application as Barron.
If our soul ambition for a Rangers player is that they get stuck in, then our standards have fallen.

01 Dec 2025 14:12:29
MPH, Barron is not 24, he was 23 in August. No need to exaggerate to make a point unless you feel it needs justifying.
Nobody said that getting stuck in is our sole ambition for a Rangers player, just that it was a solid foundation to work on, which it is and will be if we get the right kind of experience around him.

Recently he has had little option than to firefight all over the park to cover for the lack of ability in most other areas.
I'd say our standards fell to an all-time low the day Stewart and Thelwell walked into Ibrox and signed half a dozen duds.
