2 days ago people were complaining about not enough signings. Now complaining about alleged fees.
Truly bewildering trust the process and enjoy.

Some are just never pleased Asa.

I like the profile of Fernandez way more than Rothwell and found it strange that most seemed happy the other way around. I don't think Rothwell is a bad signing, he is a good player.
I just don't like the almost exclusive use of the English market. Think it's a bit lazy taking the easy option of going for what you know in your own backyard by our new management team.
We were supposed to have built up a shiny new scouting and player analysis system at the club under Koppen. It seems to have been discarded in favour of going down the English route.
I am not all doom and gloom though, always excited to see new players arrive. I just don't see the value in the approach being taken, which does concern me.

Asathor, i'm more than happy regards signings the more the merrier unless Rangers announce fee i don't believe any off the prices quoted incomings or alleged bids for our players.
03 Jul 2025 13:23:55
Guys are just worried Asa we ain't used to being able to spend these reported fees easily of late.
03 Jul 2025 13:24:52
It's bewildering, Asa - some of our fans will never be happy. If they're not moaning about no signings, it's then no marquee signings, expecting other clubs to pay top dollar for our players who they constantly slate and claim aren't good enough and think other clubs will sell us players for below market value prices.

Agree asa and sws some folk never happy it's after 1st July and the ball is rolling, exciting times ahead.

Agreed Asa/ Coops commented on this also.
03 Jul 2025 13:32:31
Agreed Asathor, I can honestly say I haven't seen any of our signings except for the boy Cameron and I haven't seen much of the rumoured transfer targets and watching YouTube videos of these players is an absolute crazy way to judge a player.
03 Jul 2025 14:17:42
I suppose that there is something in it, but I fail to see the logic in criticising our management for making signings from an area they know well instead of areas thy don't know and taking a massive gamble on players they have never seen!
03 Jul 2025 14:53:02
I get your logic DTB and I also get that I am just a random fan who does not really know anything.
But England is so expensive to work in and the point of spending time and money on improving the scouting system is that you do know markets outside of you local one.
We also went down this road under Mark Warburton at a time when we were much more competitive in the English market than we are currently. Since then the club's down south have grown thier revenues significantly making it an even harder market to get value from. It did not work well before so I think it's reasonable to be concerned that we are going that route again.
Still upbeat about the future as I do think these guys will build a proper squad we have been lacking in recent seasons. I am also delighted that we have a proper management structure at the club.
But I have concerns with the approach, I hope they are unfounded and we get off to a good start because if we don't the knives will come out and rather than relatively balanced concern from fans like myself it will be utter condemnation of the approach from the wider fan base.

If 3.5million fee yesterday for Fernandes and 3.5 million on Rothwell is correct and 5million for this luton boy then thsts 12million on two league 1 players and a 30year old championship player so people are right to be concerned imo how people can honestly say there delighted is baffling. lol If these boys fail to impress then we will be lucky to sell for 20% of that we paid and could be stuck with a tone of deadwood. i'm happy to explore these markets but not at those prices.
Also Ill follow the team an hope it works out but i'm not impressed at all think going down the English lower league route paying out these massive fees like these could be a disaster i'm hope i'm wrong.

TommyGunn, it didn't do postecoglu any harm whatsoever signing players he knew and fitted into the way he wanted to play ?So let's wait and see how Russell Martin's signings he knows, pan out mate ?I'm pleased with our signings so far ?.
03 Jul 2025 16:22:50
Dean, those figures you have posted are completely wrong.
03 Jul 2025 18:22:57
That's a terrible argument SWS, Japanese market is completely different, relatively untapped by Euro teams and has a tiny fraction of the money in England. He also had a less than 50% hit rate in that market, brought in about 8 players with only 3 working out well.
To be fair to you it's still the best point made against what I am saying. Much better than I am being stupid or that everything will be fine.
