Instead of people going to be upset at the prospect of Tav remaining and basically throwing in the towel how's about we get behind the team new owners new era.
I'm all for Tav being used less or being sold because I do believe the time is right but the continuous comments from some of the fan base as if he's the main problem is just mind boggling to me.
We need to understand because of the amount of turnover needed that it's highly unlikely Tav will be leaving there are far bigger problems at Rangers ie Propper, Yilmaz, Dowell, Davies, Cufu etc Tav is very robust and I expect him to stay, I'm all for keeping him as captain but can't see him playing 60+ games this time round so if we can pull a blinder and give Raskin a new deal then make him vice captain.
I just don't think it's soley Tavs fault yes he's had some nightmares against Maeda and has lost a bit of pace but the previous boards backing/ recruitment isn't on Tav he's been a solid contributor to us especially in attacking areas every season really bar last IMO I can't get my head around how it's his fault LOL
Let's stay positive troops and get behind the Team this could be a special season?.

Tav has given great service and contributed hugely, I can't say that about Propper, Yilmaz, Dowell or Cifu. Also, I will support All players fielded by Rangers.

On an individual level tav has probably over performed on a number of seasons! Tactics have played a big part to why it's looked like he's left gaps because no one has came and covered the space left by tav bombing forward! It's obviously been managers orders for him to play like that! Yes it time for arm band to be worn by someone else but to say tav has under achieved is just lies. One man doesn't make a title winning team and tav has more than held his own! Unfortunately now tho his legs are gone and can no longer do the job that has made him successful at rangers.

He said tavs not the biggest problem and he's right, an underperforming tavernier would contribute or offer more than the players on that list bar ridvan who i wouldn't mind keeping anyway.
do you think we should look to move on tav before dowell, cifu, davies and propper sir walter? I would definitely rather keep tav. I understand it must be hard to shake your feelings of dislike towards him though.

No1Bear55, I agree completely, there are certain players who unfortunately get stick constantly yet have also provided us with great moments, it's sad there is a toxic proportion of our fans who do this, as mentioned they forget the amazing moments they've produced on several occasions. I seen an improvement in certain areas of Tav's game toward the end of the season. He done well in lots of 1 on 1 situations, his main problem is getting caught at the back post, so if that is a known weak area, we as a team need to work out other ways from that situation arising.

If there was a poll to keep ridvan and tav this season it would be undoubtedly be no. The past is the past. The future is now. Those 2 in my eyes can't be part of it.

Evening Bears. Here's my take on the subject of Tavernier. Tav has been a great servant for Rangers during a difficult time for our club. He's scored lots of goals and captained the team through tough times. I hope he stays but if he leaves let's send him on his way with our thanks and best wishes. I can think of many players who have played for the Famous who contributed much less.

Tavernier has been our best signing over the last ten years, he has scored some wonderful goals and contributed big time . I hope we make a couple of similar signings this summer, for what we paid it's been an absolute bargain.

Sima 100%, by far the best signing the club has made in 10 years - to be contested with bassey obviously due to the money revived for him. But for what we paid for tav and what he turned out to be. if we said to fans today we will sign a right back who's defending isn't amazing but he'll score over 100 goals for the club and take us to a europa league final and win a league tital they'd all bite your hand off.

All the talk is of a New Dawn, A New Era, getting consistency against every team in the league, yet, he we are again stumbling towards the start with all the talk over whether Tavernier should be here. In my opinion, yes, he's been a good servant, but has led a team that has won next to nothing during his tenure, from that point he has to be replaced. I do believe RM will get us moving along the right lines with the backing of the new Board but he needs to be ruthless, a positive start though is imperative this season to lay down a marker, we'll be okay hopefully.

Tav actually done alright the last few months, far from being our biggest issue and will stay this season in a reduced roll I would think, seeeing Martins formation will give us a better idea.

Tav and his mistakes cost more efforts on our goal than any other player last season. Imo thst will increase this season especially if he's exposed through lack of pace.
