Genuine question for those in the know about Danilo. He's had a rough time with injuries but towards the end of the season when it seemed like he was back he hardly got any minutes, did Barry no rate him or was it more of a precaution incase he got injured again? I feel there is definitely a good player there if he can stay fit for the season ahead.

Not itk but looking at his stats he's nearly a 1 in 2 striker. I think EHL rates him as a footballer. In the right system he would be a great asset. i'm not convinced he is fully over his injurys which maybe the reason for lack of starts.

I think Dessers also found a purple patch which also played a part in Danilo not getting any minutes.
He's a good player but it's tough to see him staying with those injuries. I hope he can come through it and get playing again.

It would be a shame if that was the case. I understand that we've carried to many players with injuryproblems but if he could stay fit it would be like a new signing. If we was to sell him now I can't see us making much of our money back on him as things stand, so maybe better to take a chance on keeping him?

Danilo is NOT a 1 in 2 striker. He has managed 35 games in 2 seasons and has managed 9 goals.
9 goals in 2 years and Barry Ferguson questioned his application. I think that tells you everything.

He just didn't suit the system BF was trying to play and there was limited time of the training pitch for him to adapt.

Your taking barry fergusons report as sense he was a failure of a manager before getting the interim job at Rangers and his time as interim manager was a failure which shouldn't have been allowed to have taken place.

Deboer your leaving a huge part out of what barry said, he said he wanted more from danilo and cortes which is understandable as both are just back from long term injury. You don't just get on the pitch and start playing to your ability after being out for a long time, totally understandable.

Deboer he's actually played a part in 49 games, scoring 13 goals and 9 assists in 2000 mins of football. If you look at his goal to minutes ratio he's basically a 1 in 2 near enough anyway.

Don't think Barry made anybody think he should be long term head coach of Rangers, wasn't impressed by his words -statements on danillo and cortes. Time will tell imo there 2 players that will contribute to our upcoming successful season WRTP.

Danilo is a 1 in every 2.3 games striker over his career. 194 games and 84 goals.

Mark what he does before he gets here shows he has it in him. However I think TJBs figures have a lot of u19 and u21 goals in there. still means he knows the way to goal. just shows that if perhaps we gave players a chance they would perform as they had before. Oh I know they get lots of chances yahdeyahdeyah.

Think you need to take Danilo and Cortez under that "New Player" banner and see how they get on with RMs system. Both have shown glimpses and have had a torrid time with injuries, you'd have to imagine a high intensity pre-season for a pressing team would get them fit and strong enough to have a right crack at it next year?

Angus, we've given this guy two seasons. IMO, that's plenty.
I think his time is up.
Dessers, Iga and a new striker would be my preference for next season.
The only problem i would have selling Danilo this summer would be the fee we'd have to accept. TBH, I can't see us getting anything more than 2 million.
