Just a musing but we all know that the Scottish media is very bias towards one side, maybe they keep pushing all these managers as when you hear their fans, they like to wind us about it being Gerard, Martin etc. as they don't 'fear them'.
Like a few weeks, Gerard was a stick on for the job across all news outlets, betting sites etc, now Martin is practically signed (I am more in the Rose or Ancelotti camps tbh), but it's funny how the managers we have the most debate/ division? about suddenly appear throughout the media on who we are getting.
Same way when one of our players do well for a few weeks, suddenly they are being touted as 20mill in the papers and it gets in their heads and their form dips (Igy being a good example)

That is what i said 24JG, that email leak IMO definitely set that all off yesterday and i think Sky and Romano have ran off that and sent our Fans into a frenzy, us all included about Martin and it worked. Fingers crossed it backfires and it's not him, i genuinely think someone like MR would have them running scared.

Seems a bit strange to me that, in the case of Gerrard, they would be happy to see him coming back in, given that he was beating them for fun before he left.

They don't fear SG because he won one trophy in nine. that's the reason they wouldn't fear whether that's right or wrong is up to others but if it was other way about I wouldn't fear a manager they had with that record.

Good post jamger. Imo Gerrard is/ was never a serious option. It's understood we want a coach not a manager. My thoughts are Gerrard was a very good manager at Rangers but lacke coach skills.

Would still still like to see Rose come in, especially as rumoured red bull will play some part, he's been in and around their set up before, there were rumours he wanted to big a wage and transfer money, time will tell I suppose, hope Thelwell is true to his word and we know within the next few days.

Aye Storm, but remember the mess he inherited from the Pedro era. It was always going to take time to turn things around and you can't deny he did that. Made mistakes, yes, most notably not sanctioning the sales of Kent and Morelos, but he had the measure of the other lot at the end, no doubt about it.

He didn't really have the measure of them at all we will agree to disagree on that one as my opinion is they still would have won the title if he didn't leave and I know some think we would have and they are entitled to their opinion.

Gerrard was in charge for 13 old firms. He won 8 of them, drew one and lost 4. That's a pretty impressive record for someone that didn't really have the measure of Celtic ??.

1 trophy out 9 says he doesn't Mystar I would take getting beat off them 4 times a season as long as we won a treble.

I am an ardent fan but I would still say that us beating Celtic to that key title was not just down to us. Agent Lennon was bringing their house down with disgruntled players and having no fans definitely helped us. I also look at the players we had then (and now! ) . Greggs in goal, likes of Tav and Goldson having their best season, Davo (rolls royce controlling games), having Gers men like Arfield driving the team on, Morelsos, kent, Aribo playing really well, even Defoe, everything came together that season. We could say we had the better of Celtic this season in the league winning twice and 1 draw. miles behind in the league though! Gerard was a figurehead, and he had the passion and belief on what was required, a bit like Barry to be fair, that same mould of being driven to succeed but actually there was a lot of other factors (including Beale and the set piece coach for example) who were part of bringing that one trophy back. Know the chat diverged from original point of the media like to feed more negative stuff re Rangers and forget anything on Celtic, who knows, it may turn out to be RM, but I am also well aware on how the likes of DR like to spin things. saying that, they got the takeover correct lol!
