Look, today was a disappointment, as on balnace of play we should have been won but still found a way to lose.
However, what we found out today was that PC finally came to his senses and organised a team to beat them, albeit without a potent front.
Let PC build a team that can go the extra 5 yards this summer. in PC we trust.

He got the set up spot on I agree, he kept tav and ridvan back and the midfield could perform much better because of it.
We lack quality and that’s what needs sorted in the summer.
He is the man to do it in my eyes also but at the same time he should have rectified the tactics before his 4th game v them.

A lot of people seem to be going down the route of building team round Sterling in cm. My view is we should build team round him but as CH, he looked very comfortable on their yesterday, first time I've seen him in there.

It’s funny, I remember when he first signed he said that was his weakest position, he did look very comfortable though.
We need Centre half’s with more pace as we panic when teams are in behind.

He needs a position set we can’t keep moving him around to plug holes. he's got to be given the chance to lock down his own position next season and I think it should be either right back or centre mid.

Yes he did but the minute he loses a header he’s going to be too small to play there. I like him in midfield, his energy is refreshing and has pace but maybe he looks better because others don’t have these attributes.

We need to ensure that we have the strongest possible spine to the team and build round that. Along with Butland, Sterling would certainly be one of the players that I would want to hold on to and build the team round, Sima would be another if we are able to sign him. There are a few others that I would like to see part of the squad, Diomonde, Raskin and Yilmaz for example. Unfortunately as things stand and unless we have a few of the young lads coming through we probably need about 10 new players and all of them need to be significantly better than what we have.
Unless we are very clever in the Bosman market that isn't going to happen.

Agree Bathgate - He looks so good because those around are so poor or don't give a F*** - the boy has the right attitude but to build a team around him seems extreme - he will be a good asset and team player for us and I do like his effort and honesty!

I don’t agree on height, I don’t think height makes you a better defender or better dealing with crosses, it’s desire to attack the ball and getting close to players that make you a better defender, as well as ability to read the game. Also, we keep going on about pace in back line, you don’t get many 6’4/ 5 guys that are quick.
Some of the best defenders of all time were not massive, even that vickers isn’t tall he’s just aggressive. Sterling isn’t small and as far as I can see has the qualities to be a cracking CH.
I agree he needs a fixed position next year, and all I’m saying is CH could be that. If we bring in CHs over summer the. RB could be option, but I don’t think he is a CM, he’s got the energy/ mobility to play in there, which is what we’re missing, but he doesn’t have the technical ability/ brain to play in there to take the ball on the turn, find the holes to thread balls or even to sit and dictate a game. So yes, he offers us what we currently lack in the middle, as Lund looks like she’s towing a caravan when he moves, but for me he only looks great in there because the rest are not noble, apart from Raskin.

Ifs buts and maybes. but if we had a front three that could score we'd have won that.
That's the difference and it's been the difference for the past few seasons, they have goals we don't. Fix that and we win these fixtures all season.

Same squad, same results in big games.
I don't blame PC as this is inherited, but minding ourselves that clear out of the bottlers isn't required!
Until the perennial losers are all vanished, we can expect similar outcomes.

yet we are seeing people wanting us to give out new contracts to guys like Lundstram that were serial losers in England and only turn up every now and again yet they are costing us £30k a week or more, (and Lundstram is one of the better examples) .
We finally appear to have a quality manager, we haven't brought in much by way of quality over the past few seasons.
We have been needing a clear out and an improvement in quality yet every time we spend a fortune, they are no better than what we had! Are our Scouts really that bad!

Add in VAR which is sucking the passion out of the game, and it’s all become very clinical and uninteresting.
It also doesn’t help that all teams these days now try and play the same systems/ tactics which inevitably involves slow possession based build up which send my to sleep.

I agree with you, the tactics are far too methodical and prescriptive these days which combined with their becoming a non-contact sport just makes it all very unexciting to watch.

I like the look of the Georgian boy we’re linked with, different type of player, more of a 10 but looks very good, strong on ball, technical and good finisher.
