I think dave king is being very clever by not pandering to ashley and repaying the £5 million loan right now as it gives us a bit leeway in negotiations over an amendment of the retail contracts. King says meet us half way with the contracts so the club can thrive and you will get your money and if not you can wait! At the end of the day ashley had his men draw down the loan thinking he had the upper hand in that regard and it's backfired to a certain extent

I'll ask again, maybe at some point someone will actually answer this. What "leeway", "negotiation tool", "bartering ploy" or whatever terminology you want to dress it up in, is a £5m debt to a man whose company sells £6m of merchandise every day of the year? Will one of you actually step up to the plate and answer this rather screamingly obvious flaw in your otherwise magnificent financial understandings? That whole last sentence was sarcasm, on the off chance any of your understandings of that is on a par with your Warren Buffet impersonations.

2.) 10 Jun 2015 00:23:12
The guys a billionaire and you think dk can hold him to ransom with 5 million pounds , he is just asking for it back to be a pain in the arse and will happily rake in the money from merchandising till it's due .

3.) 10 Jun 2015 01:26:25
Gaz 1
I think M Asley holds the winning hand , and he knows it . He won't be bluffed .

4.) 10 Jun 2015 03:43:12
Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit my dim friend.

When has anyone said that we have the upper hand or bartering advantage on the Ashley situation? I think you will find that many of us understand that Ashley has us by the short n curly's over the debt. Carry on reading your tabloids and drinking your Buckie mate.
Dumb questions, get dumb answers.

5.) 10 Jun 2015 07:36:40
Ashley still has naming rights and no doubt 100 other things even if we pay it back.

6.) 10 Jun 2015 07:56:08
Haha Nippon, jeez if I'm replying to an OP on said subject (for the third time) then surely all of you aren't getting the message and all of you aren't reading from the same hymn sheet. Did you read the OP? "Gives us a bit of leeway" or did you just charge in half-cocked without any idea of context, as per usual I would imagine. A reactionary ill-informed Ger, trust me you are not a dying breed.

Dim? I can safely say I've forgot more about the financial fiasco that is Rangers over the past three years than most of you ever knew but sure if inaccurate insults get you through keep plying away. And given that you clearly know less than zero about me you can keep friend and mate to folk you do know. You are a walking cliche Nippon.

7.) 10 Jun 2015 08:36:42
Hahaha Seem to have hit a nerve their Gaz?
Maybe fetch your sanitation pad?
I was recovering from a heavy night in Bangkok and by mistake I typed 'when has anyone' instead of 'how many have' in my post. I put my hands up for that boo boo, my bad.
Purely out of curiosity , do you and Marty get enjoyment out of our predicament? If that's the kind of sad little people you are I will just keep my 'friends' and 'mates' to folk I know.

8.) 10 Jun 2015 09:45:06
Nippon you couldn't hit a nerve on me with a guided missile and a state of the art GPS system. Oh sanitation pad, wow bringing out the big gun insults now eh? Oscar Wilde would be in awe of your acerbic tongue. And you have the cheek to mention me, buckie and tabloids in the one sentence. You are a parody intellectual who can't debate and would rather insult than engage your brain.

I will answer your question in all sincerity however. It's nothing to do with enjoyment it is the inability to grasp the realism time after time after time. Of course there will at some point be light at the end of the tunnel and I don't blame any of you for wanting to grasp that but unnecessarily painting a picture a certain way just because you want it to be so only leads to further disappointment no? And this nonsense spin of £5m grabbing Ashley's attention etc is just garbage when you look at the vast sums the guy deals in. I have said in here many times realism and pragmatism will see you better off here, it can't see you any worse given some of the crap you have had to endure. But it is self-inflicted misery, disappointment in many cases, a club weaned on success desperate to celebrate any old point scoring victory, however hollow, however inaccurate.

Days into the demotion I recall someone saying "Well we will be the first team to win all 4 Scottish divisions." A totally arrogant presumption with not an ounce of research behind it. Dumbarton did it some time ago. Days into "the journey" well that's the largest ever attendance in the world for a division 4 game, turns out some Brazilian team had higher (Recife is springing to mind) and so it continues to this day, just a Rangers tinted view on life with only one winner, reality is not like that currently, the past three years sure as hell haven't been like that. It is time for the fanciful dreaming to end and some pragmatic realism as to where Rangers actually are to be embraced. It will stand you in better stead longer term I promise you.

9.) 10 Jun 2015 10:28:28
Nipponbear can't answer for the other two but yes I get great enjoyment from the predicament your club finds itself in and if the boot was on the other foot so would you , to say anything else would make you a liar . Do you think man u , barca or inter fans would not be enjoying it as much if man city , real or ac Milan were in your position or vice versa? But if it helps my old mother used to tell me back in the nineties when you were on top nothing lasts for ever and that it all goes in cycles when it comes to football no matter how strong or week one team looks and she was spot on , so I reckon we have only got 10-15 years left on top 😅

10.) 10 Jun 2015 10:54:35
Clearly having his £5 million that he wants back is better than having nothing that he wants? Regardless of what ever else he has over rangers.

11.) 10 Jun 2015 11:10:38
Great Fab!
Thankfully I look on life a little different to yourself. I could not give two hoots what happens to any other team. I support Rangers and love to see them do well. I do miss the old firm games , of course, but on the grand scheme of things it is only a game! There are other things to challenge us in this life ( for Marty to tie his shoes perhaps? Don't have a flaky Marty it's just a joke) and I can think of many a thing I would do rather than making pointless echoes on different fans page. Why would I slag of my celtic following friends?. Good luck to all three of you!

12.) 10 Jun 2015 11:37:20
Sorry Chris forgot to get back to you. I agree with you, regards Ashley, he needed Rangers alive to sell shirts, so a £5m loan means nothing to him. It got him some more power and some folk in the door. Then he got lobbed out, he then decides to use his £5m to call the bluff of the three bears and King and test their mettle, see if they did have £5m up front, maybe he heard whispers of otherwise, who knows. But he's a businessman and needless to say he knew he had to offer some enticement to get this passed at the EGM, so he offered other sweeteners which in the cold light of day are actually good for the club however King wishes to dress the whole thing up. Similarly he has valid questions regards the Nomad and stock exchange which King has all but ignored in his counter proposition. But it will take someone better than King to outwit Ashley here I reckon, the guy will have the best lawyers etc money can buy on tap.

13.) 10 Jun 2015 13:17:30
Gaz in regards to your second last post on this thread.
Firstly how ironic to drop to my level and label me a 'parody intellectual who can't debate and would rather insult than engage your brain. ' nice one!
Then you drivel on with someone's 'arrogant presumption' over being the only team to win all the Scottish leagues, dismissing Dumbarton. One person said this to you and you think this is the collective opinion for all gers supporters? Very narrow minded of you .
Similarly you regurgitate Recifes 'world record' 'springing to mind' with respect to their own attendance achievements in the 4 th tier. Good for them but who cares? It was a tabloid title Gaz.

14.) 10 Jun 2015 15:57:12
So that is your level then Nippon, thank you very much for admitting it, dashed decent of you. :)

15.) 10 Jun 2015 16:45:37
Gaz,

Could you try to be a little more pompous in your posts. Mind the fall, it will hurt you.

16.) 10 Jun 2015 16:48:26
Just going according to you, since you know it all;)
Always looking for the last word.

17.) 10 Jun 2015 18:41:44
Clearly there is a very interesting battle. In one corner you have a very clever rich hard nosed business man . In the other corner you have a crafty smart business man well used to ducking and diving .
Who will come out best in the long run?

18.) 10 Jun 2015 21:10:36
Lol Cuillin, still trying to shake the buckie and tabloids slur. :)

Nicky laws last gasp goal on Saturday could be a lot more important than it seemed at the time. It means hibs need to win if we beat hearts and to be honest hibs seem to crack under pressure this season although the same could be said about us.

gingerger

1.) 29 Apr 2015 00:17:13
We only have to beat the best team in the league away

2.) 29 Apr 2015 01:16:24
Well it is a no brained that you will beat hearts really isn't it? They won't be interested in helping out hibs in any way whatsoever now will they!
But totally agree that hibs have the Celtic disease of bottling the big ones lol

3.) 29 Apr 2015 09:19:01
Would NOT like to play QOS first off in play offs.they absolutely ragged us last time.even losing to Hibs and Hearts,we were at least in the game.we didn't lay a glove on QOS.

17 Apr 2015 12:54:27
Can someone please explain to me how hibs are at a disadvantage if we played our last game on the Sunday? Is it easier to win on a Sunday? It make us go into the match needing a victory and piling on the pressure and then if we fail we have less recovery time for the playoffs and finally what's it got to do with hearts? Yes we play them but the league is over for them.

gingerger

1.) 17 Apr 2015 14:10:40
Well for a start if it comes down to goal difference you will know exactly how many goals you need to take second. Also you will know wether you are playing for a win or a draw - simple stuff really

2.) 17 Apr 2015 15:04:48
So its beyond the realms of possibility for hibs to just go and win and force us to go to the champions needs to win by 3 goals ect? That's what I would be saying if i'm Alan stubbs, imo it shows they are running scared. who here would rather we played Saturday and hibs Sunday?

3.) 17 Apr 2015 15:44:31
It's sporting integrity. it's the right thing to do. Hibs could go out and lose, so we just go oh well to bad that's field the u20's kind of thing. it all goes back to Germany and Algeria. They knew they had Done enough to Qualify so passed the ball around for 90 minutes.

4.) 17 Apr 2015 16:40:09
I didn't look at it that way to be fair but what I would say is hearts have nothing to play for so can't they play who they want or just stand still for 90 minutes?

5.) 18 Apr 2015 11:54:49
I thought the spl were doing it so the champions would be closing out the season and also to add more excitement if it does go to the last day for second place. I wouldn't care if it had been hjbs playing the Sunday

6.) 18 Apr 2015 15:19:56
I see the blinkers on for many regarding sporting intergraty. Rangers got the season extended for 4 years & the Scottish Cup Final was moved to a week later!!I also remember Celtic playing games in advance before a euro final, yet rangers postponed games so why have clowns like BF moaning & bleating that it's the " agenda against us". If he paid his EBT LOAN back maybe just mabe & the dozens that owe LOANS pay them then ADMIN & Liquidation wouldn't have occurred!!

7.) 18 Apr 2015 19:53:47
Titties, thanks for your insightful unbiased posts. They are of course taken most seriously.

08 Apr 2015 11:21:59
I see gasparotto played for the development team last night against killie, what happened to extending his loan? I'd have him on the bench at least if he's back

gingerger

1.) 08 Apr 2015 13:54:12
Loan players can play for development squads.

I see green said his relationship with Mccoist ended when Mccoist refused to sign a letter encouraging fans to buy season tickets. wasn't he sagged off for bowing to everyone in charge? Maybe not straight forward as we think behind the scenes I'm sure he fought for the fans and yes he was a terrible manager but that's not my point here

gingerger

1.) 23 Mar 2015 15:45:44
The important thing is that while fans were refusing to buy season tickets before our first season in the lower leagues and with Bomber and others telling us to starve out the board, Ally backed Green fully and brought the fans on board.

2.) 23 Mar 2015 16:06:54
Fair point naz but then he caught on to green the following year and refused?

3.) 23 Mar 2015 16:32:18
OP is that not the minimum he should do as a Bluenose? Said before on here I wish him no ill and a happy life after Rangers. But he was our worst ever manager when we probably needed our best ever to come up with an exciting young team.
But it is about Stuart McCall now so let's give him the same level of backing as Ally received in the first couple of seasons.

It isn't difficult is it? The guy is asking if there are any bears on here from Milton Keynes.

Why try ridicule him for no reason?

Crosshouse buddy, who is in charge of scouting and spotting these youngsters now? Seems a good change of direction
