Our transfer window open for an additional 2 days compared to the top 5 leagues could provide a treasure trove delights over the next 48hrs. Not saying it will happen, but it allows fringe players to be loaned out. Time will tell I suppose.

We have to shift people 1st though.

01 Sep 2026 15:06:15
Aasgaard off to Bodo Glimt.

01 Sep 2026 15:13:55
Great move for him, Foolmonty.

01 Sep 2026 15:18:41
Report I read said he had caught their eye, but there was no bid.

01 Sep 2026 15:18:54
Fool, buy or loan?

01 Sep 2026 15:19:34
Bit of click bait the Aasgaard one from the Daily Record. Just says they like him as a player and no bid made.

01 Sep 2026 15:20:39
Nothing concrete as of yet.

01 Sep 2026 15:20:48
Hope it's true about Aasgaard.

01 Sep 2026 15:24:31
He's not joining them.

01 Sep 2026 15:27:43
Feel like we will end up for a few loans last day or two. Aasgaard is our only 10.

01 Sep 2026 15:29:53
Their record transfer in is £4m. If we are selling international players who scored against France at a World Cup for that, we are as well packing the club up and going home. We paid that for Oleg Salenko off the back of a World Cup 32 years ago!

01 Sep 2026 15:30:07
Who is he joining?

01 Sep 2026 16:29:06
How much did we get for Aasgaard. 😜

01 Sep 2026 16:52:58
Burt, Minsu Kim can play as a central no.10. 👍

01 Sep 2026 17:08:30
Aasgaard won't be going to Bodo Glimt, Foolmonty. 🤔 Is that possibly wishful thinking from yourself. 🤔

01 Sep 2026 17:35:19
Not according to a reputable Norwegian news outlet, Avisa Nordgard, SWS. He has certainly caught the eye. It would be a good move for him imo.

Have you heard different?

01 Sep 2026 17:43:52
I think Aasgaard could come good now that we have a bit more going forward. Playing with Minsu would give him the chance to play front foot. He's definitely more of a luxury player though, something that, at the moment, we can't really afford. Hopefully, with more positive result under our belt, he can flourish. Win, win if we want to move him on during the next couple of windows.

Salenko was a proven commodity, playing for a top Valencia team. He ended up not playing too often with us, but he was consistently a very good striker besides his famous World Cup performance. He'd be worth far more than £4million now. There's a monolithic difference between him and Aasgaard who's a player who's occasionally shown glimpses of talent at a low level who happened to score against France. He's really not been very good for us, and his attitude stinks to boot, so any reputable scout will have picked up on that.

I think it's a disservice to Oleg Salenko to mention them in the same breath, even though Salenko couldn't really break into our first team back then because we had an embarrassment of riches up front. I understand inflation is a thing, but Aasgaard will never come close to being that level of player.

Was £2.5million for Salenko back then. He joined Valencia after the World Cup and came to us the season after.
