Reading we've been offered a striker from lens on loan fofana

21 Aug 2026 23:32:21
Would be delighted with that. He's excellent, big, powerful and fast. He's got 2 very good strikers in front of him, or I'd suspect he would've been their first choice.

21 Aug 2026 23:54:55
I wouldn't mind that either, loan for a season, spend on other areas.

22 Aug 2026 00:23:08
Romain Esse from Crystal Palace is another winger option we're apparently considering.

22 Aug 2026 00:32:29
Didn't he join Coventry, Der Hammer?

22 Aug 2026 05:22:26
With Chermiti's injury, a loan is a sensible option. Don't get me wrong, if we can sign a long term target then great, but if not, I'd like a loan for 12 months.

20 years old and a goal every 5 games - no thanks.

We have Curtis, Gassama, Naderi, who are all early 20's.

Some experience and a better track record, please.

TBH I don't really know much about the Lens striker Fofana and how good or not good he is. 🤔

22 Aug 2026 08:12:21
Goal every 159mins in Ligue 1 last season as a teenager isn't shabby. Cortez was a loan from Lens, so I'd be suspicious.

22 Aug 2026 08:23:12
For the posters who want us to sign Lens striker Rayan Fofana, would you prefer him to the other 3 strikers we've been linked with very recently, ie. Kevin Kelsy, Ellis Simms and Daniel Karlsbakk.

🤔 Just out of interest, guys, to see who you'd prefer. 👍 I don't really know very much about Karlsbakk and Fofana tbh, so my preference would be either Kelsy or Simms, although I would take Kelsy first. 🤔 🇬🇧

22 Aug 2026 08:31:25
SWS, Fofana at the very bottom of that list, for me.

22 Aug 2026 08:36:46
Karlsbakk for me. 🙏🤞😁🤞🙏🔴⚪️🔵

22 Aug 2026 09:35:47
Gazza, as far as I understand it, Esse was on loan at Coventry for the second half of last season. Apparently Crystal Palace have made him available again.

22 Aug 2026 09:43:55
Can't see Ellis Sims happening tbh. He started last night against Arsenal, and would prefer a bit more pace. Regarding Fofana, he played he played 27 times last season and scored 5 goals, but only started 7 times, so he might be a hidden gem. Karlsbakk and Kelsy both look class.

22 Aug 2026 10:11:45
Done a bit of research on Karlsbakk. Stoke had a few bids knocked back last month and were told they wanted £4 mil minimum. Surely this makes him a no brainer. He's 6ft 4, scores both feet and headers, he's rapid and works hard, can hold it up, assist and also poach goals. Has a great goal scoring record and is a great age.

22 Aug 2026 10:21:32
Simms for me.

22 Aug 2026 11:58:47
Simms would definitely be the preference, but after seeing him start against Arsenal and play quite well against one of the best CBs in the world, I don't think we'll see him at Ibrox.

22 Aug 2026 13:15:31
I thought Simms was rotten last night, and the difference when Awoniyi came on was like night and day. That said, I do acknowledge he was up against top class defenders last night, so I wouldn't say a definite no.
Quite worried about our replacement for Chermiti, it sounds as if we are looking for a lookalike rather than a replacement.

Do we have all Chermiti's training gear with No 9 on it already made up and want someone to fit it? If we are loaning someone, it should be someone with a track record of scoring goals.

22 Aug 2026 18:05:03
Fofana will be a lone, as for Simms, Wolves are after him £10 plus million, the other boy I know nothing about.
