SWS, you may recall a long time back I said we'd contacted a manager in the Championship, who I was a little surprised about until I done a bit of digging on them - then it made sense.
Most assumed it was Carrick due to the connection with Man U and PS.

Would we not need to ask Sheffield Wednesday for permission to speak to him? I'd have thought they'd leak that out to the press etc. unless of course they've been professional about it and been decent with Rohl despite him wanting to move on.

I heard Rohl had a £5m buy out clause - Not sure if that's accurate but that would impact our transfer funds quite a bit.

Scotty, yes they have to grant permission - they have an agreement with him around any approach from clubs in Germany, The Prem or a club in European football.

Very rarely do the press know any contractual details. they quote prices on everything from players, to managers salaries to their buy outs without actually knowing. I think like us they use transfermarkt which in itself is a guess.
