I think this team could be the real deal we will know by january we have seen false dawns before but this team doesn't have mental scars they look hungry most of the time to win if were to point out flaws they need a better rb that's it and better back up if Neil or Raskin got injured.
A better right back?
Sterling is, probably, the best right back in the league right now and we have a Serbian international waiting for his chance.
As for the midfield, Raskin & Neil dovetail very well but Chukwuani and Dragojevic are more than capable back ups.
Just my opinion but I reckon we are in a good place at the moment. My only gripe would be that we don't score enough of the chances created but that's me just nit-picking.
Sterling is playing very very well.
I agree the squad is shaping up very well with an abundance of quality waiting for their chance.
My only issue is big Manny. He gives up far too many chances. For a player of his mentality then I would be recommending that he shift some pounds and work on his speed. He will give up chances so it's important that he's as fast as possible to be able to recover.
St the moment he looks heavy and is very slow off the mark, coupled with his tendency to jog rather than sprint allowing strikers to get in front of him.
Personally, I think stm Godfrey would be the better option. The only caveat is Manny is very dominant in the air π€.
Sterlings been fantastic what are you smoking have you seen the defensive record over the previous 9 games? 4 goals conceded in 9 games. Including 6 clean sheets, 2 of which against Celtic and ones away at Pittodrie. And actually it's 3 goals in 8 conceded for Sterling as he didn't play in the game we conceded at Falkirk.
You are correct that Sterling is playing very well in most games but that in my opinion only makes it imperative that we capitalise on Sterling perhaps being of interest to other clubs.
I would be looking to sell.
Let's win the league without selling any players unless.
Massive fees.
Sterling playing out his skin and plenty midfield cover.
Next two games will be a real test for the squad.
I still have a few concerns with the right side of the defence and the balance in the midfield, but overall really like the strength of the squad and some of the football we're playing is a joy to watch.
EHL, going to Tynecastle will be the bigger test of our next 2 games for me mate π€ Rangers will have far too much for the sheep at hampden on saturday evening ππ¬π§.
Well said mystar, 100%.
Tynecastle harder game physically but the semi final is a harder game mentally we need to get the trophy hoodoo of our backs, we haven't won anything in 3 season. Really need to win this league cup 0 excuses.
We'll beat Aberdeen by 2 or 3 goals on saturday imo Wishy ππ¬π§.
Win both no reason why not. let's get after it.
Why would we sell the best right back in the league when we are going for the treble? Unless its north of an 8 figure fee then it wouldn't make any sense at all to sell. I know we all have opinions but I really do wonder at times what goes through some folks minds.
Stirling is here till he walks after contract ends , we need him if we want to win league , we don't sell any starters unless it's crazy money and that not happening with Stirling.
McInnes has already said unless a crazy offer comes in we won't be selling anyone unless a crazy offer comes in.
Never seen a fanbase in all
My life with such an obsession with selling playersπ.
Coopersdad, I just don't see Sterling as a critical piece to win the league.
If an opportunity arises to upgrade for the long term then it would be prudent to do so.
No one can deny that he is enjoying a good period of form but my thoughts on him have not changed.
I was of the opinion that we should look to sell him in the summer and this small period of form has not altered my mind.
NATO it's not a small period of form though, he's always been a good player just needed to stay fit.
Sterling has always been a good player. He's an integral part of our team. Thankfully our manager thinks so too. Last week changing it up from our usual two up top was the right thing to do even though we dropped points, now this week its Sterling is not good enough. Give me strength.
Nato, Sterling has been excellent this season. Don't you believe him playing in the position he thinks he's best and going injury free with have something to do with his form? Why sell one of our best with a league to win? We get you don't like him, but try not to take away the credit he deserves for his performances on the park, again he'll soon be injury free for a year so that can't get chucked in his face either, same with his 1m a year salary, try supporting man.
You would have to question the players mentality if they would want to leave a club who's ambitions was to win the league to a club that is in trouble π€.
I agree Sterling will likely be offered a new deal if he's still injury free come the end of the cold winter. That's however is a big test for him.
So far he's one of our top 5 or 6 performers.
My star, need i remind you that at no point have i ever said i disliked Sterling.
I have praised his performances all season but that does not alter the fact that I believe it to be prudent to look for an alternative.
I have not changed my mind on the matter just because he has been consistent over the past 2 months.
It will take more than that to convince me that he is reliable throughout a hard season.
Nato, I can tell you dislike Sterling, it not hard to see, and it's not only 2 mouths either, be a main stay in the team from the end of last season. Sterling needs to stay for our league challenge, madness wanting him sold before the season ends, see it you hear what McInnes has said about him before he was even his manager, that only tells me, more chance of him extending his contract, we can't let him run into the final year of his contract next summer.
# If you hear.
Think by end of Nov we will know if this team is real deal, as we have 3 away games & cup semi final to play, if we can win all these games it will show us all.
As for Sterling why Nato wants him sold can only be personal as he is currently one of our better players & I thought we were covered by Young Serbian guy & McCronie at RB.
I have never met Sterling and I hold no personal feelings towards him. I advocated for him to be sold in the summer, the club attempted to offload in the summer.
His form whilst great to see and I have praised that does not alter my opinion that It would be better to offload if the opportunity arises.
I do not see him as a reliable player throughout a long season, although he may be helped by our abject failure to stay in European competition.
I have stated on multiple occasions that I feel the club should take the opportunity to sign Hampus Skoglund in the winter window.
The club attempted to sign him in the summer, but Hammarby would not make a deal in the middle of their own season.
Nato, that's another thing I do not believe, why would we try and shift him in the summer with our current manager rating him so highly? Maybe you haven't met him personally, but his actions off the park is the reason you don't like him, it's clear to see, Sterling will sign another contract for us, we won't let him run into his final year, Sterling has now played over 270 games and only just turned 27 years old a few days ago, decent return for a 27 year old.
He's played 33 games out of Rangers 39 this year, missed a cup game this season, missed the Falkirk game this season and last season as well as the game at Kilmarnock, let's see how many games he plays in the rest of this season, Sterling has been one of our best players this season and you want him sold!
We'll struggle getting anyone better that Sterling coming to Scotland, we've currently got a young player rated very highly in Sebira but can't get near our side for Sterling.
My star, multiple people have spoken about how the club tried to offload Sterling in the summer.
I hold no personal feelings towards him and please cease attempting to link my views of him with his past indiscretions.
I would love to have a reasonable intellectual conversation with you without you attributing my viewpoints as something personal.

Nato, I'm really not convinced what posters said on here was true, far from it, just like Neil was wanting a return to England after a couple of months, I did ask about that and was only told it was nonsense, and why would any manager that rates Sterling as highly want him sold? intellectual conversion lol Nato, you want him out for something he never done on the park, that's all am getting from you on Sterling, because you're certainly not judging him on his performances on it this season.
