Shankland's been the best player outside the Old Firm for the past 4 seasons, and look at the abuse he's getting from our fans.
Lyle Cameron has been lucky he hasn't played, that he's become a superstar. Give him a few games and everyone would be wanting him out too.
Our fans are toxic towards Scottish players.

The Scottish core was something Rohl wanted & he left, so the blame would be on McInnes, who hasn't used either of them.
Wishy, Shankland was not the best player outside the Old Firm for the last 2 seasons.
Our fans are toxic to the whole squad, only some seem immune to it. Shankland has not been anywhere near good enough so far, just like many others.

Rohl didn't give Cameron a chance either, so not sure that point makes much sense either.

There's been a problem with Cameron. I don't know what it is, but something happened. He wasn't going to be played, so he moves on.

Shame to read this, Colonel, but heard something like it before. Thought under DM he would have got a chance. Must be a big deal if two managers didn't use him, because the lad can play.

Rohl didn't use him, nor did Martin, so there's something wrong with Cameron. He wasn't good at Aberdeen either. Shankland scored a total of 8 goals 2 seasons ago & last season they were multiple better than him.

Definitely would be happier if both of them got a chance in the team, but if the management don't think they can contribute this season, probably best they go out and get game time. Would be over the moon for both or even one of them to come back and get a shot at preseason next year.
I'll add both to my Loan Watch because I'm keen to see them do well.
As for a Scottish core, we added McCrorie, Penrice, Shankland, and Curtis is back from loan and should be a good squad option. Would prefer for us to have Barron performing at the levels he was at before he got injured at the start of the year, but might take a while for him to regain that.

Another OTT comment, nobody said that Cameron is a super star, what we are saying is he never got a chance and none of us know why. He looked decent at the start, got injured and never got another chance. Watching the pre season stuff he's obviously a hard worker in training so it's not that, so why didn't he get any game time to impress, or play his way out of the plans.
It was Mr Cavenagh who said we would be looking for a Scottish base but we've dumped Souttar, Cameron and unbelievebly Barron and signed Shankland, McCrorie who can't get near a game and Penrice who we only signed because Rommens got inured. Hardly in keeping with that statement by the owner.
