I know some supporters have lived longer than me and witnessed far worse times, results and performances.
However, in 2026, having spent millions on transfer fees and wages and with everyone constantly telling us how poor this league is and how little money the other clubs have, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect Rangers to win the vast majority of domestic games.
That isn't entitlement; it's the minimum expectation that comes with the money spent and the standards of this club.
We can't find ourselves, dropping more points at Aberdeen.

Well, we can drop points against Aberdeen, as regardless of how much a player costs or earns, or what 'standards' you believe our club holds that elevate us above others - it's 11 vs 11 and more often than not, the team that fights the hardest wins.
Aberdeen, like every other team, will smell blood and be looking to take advantage, so time will tell who is up for the fight.

I think there is a combination of factors. Firstly, we are getting close to 30 players over 3 windows. How can we expect a cohesive unit of players when half of them are strangers.
Second one is DM himself. The constant chopping and changing is hurting more than helping us. I genuinely think he is over managing us. I understand he is looking for something, but it's hindering us imo.
He needs to decide what he wants to do, and more or less stick to it, as players are starting to look confused on the pitch. It looks like he is losing the dressing room by the game and once that happens there is no way back.
I am worried about Sunday, as I don't have any confidence we can go there and win. If we don't it leaves a decision to be made on his future.

Yes, Ehl, it is 11 v 11. A supposedly better and highly paid 11, apparently coached by the best v 11. We expect to win!
28 Aug 2026 13:49:26
You are spot on, EHL, with what your saying, but how can we continue to sign players that aren't up to the fight, we are spending 10s of millions each year and nothing's getting better, tried manager after manager.
I do not know what is wrong with Rangers, it just seems poisoned no matter how good a player is before he comes he just turns to s*** when he gets here.

Pittodrie was always a hard place for the Gers to get a result. If McInnes can somehow muster a performance on Sunday, he has the players at his disposal to beat Aberdeen.

Ehl,
Whose job is it to get players fired up and ready to match and outfight their opponent?
Genuine question.
I'd appreciate a reply in kind. 😊

A manager and coach are there to do this, Stig. However, if a professional footballer can't get himself fired up for a match, what chance do you have?!
28 Aug 2026 14:15:06
Dropping points against Aberdeen will just hammer the nails in deeper.
28 Aug 2026 15:12:09
Just don't understand the constant formation changes. They seriously damage us mid game.
28 Aug 2026 14:54:17
It's getting harder and harder to see where we actually go from here, as I just can't see anything in our team to take anything positive from it. We have no style, no flair, no grit or determination, no direction. We've not had a settled team since probably Gerrard was here, and we've completely lost our way in Europe now.
It just looks like we just keep chucking money at stuff with no thought or plan, and it always comes crashing down very quickly.
28 Aug 2026 15:14:37
Stig, first and foremost, it's the player's job to get themselves fired up.
There will be some personalities that require additional motivation from the coach or another leader.
However, ultimately it rests with the individual.

Never in the history of football is it simply the best paid players that win everything. Human beings generally love taking scalps, ie, put in more effort against a team they aren't expected to beat.
So, every team fights 100% harder to beat Rangers and Celtic, especially if they think they can hurt us.
We just don't fight for anything at the moment. We didn't last year, we aren't this year. All we are hearing is team berift of confidence. Players who don't give a rubbish etc. How did we get ourselves in the mess, and more importantly, how do we get out of it.
28 Aug 2026 15:28:48
It's not really just random 11 blokes against another 11 blokes tho. It's paying for better professionalism, coaching, tactics, fitness, scouting, standards, etc etc as well as the 11 being better players. Like everything, when u pay more you expect better. Upsets can happen, but they shouldn't be allowed to become the norm.
28 Aug 2026 15:30:45
Got to totally agree, EHL. 🇬🇧 Players know that and showed 0% interest.
28 Aug 2026 16:41:11
I said before the Dundee United game, when people said they would be right up for it, why weren't our players going to be right up for it too? The way the game panned out, they worked their socks off and got a draw because we didn't show the same effort to allow us to showcase our talent.
If it's the same at Pittodrie, then heads should roll. Our team should be up there putting in the effort for the club and the fans after Thursday night. Nothing less is acceptable.
