Jesrun rak saki move to Charlton has fell through. Clubs agreed a 5 mil deal and he passed a medical. Apparently finer details caused it to collapse either payment structure or sell on clause. This could be one to watch as we've been interested before and at £5 mil would be 1/2 the price of Duberry but still a quality addition

We should be aiming higher than players Charlton are interested in.

Exactly, I can't believe we didn't try and hijack Rodri's move to Barcelona.

27 Aug 2026 14:23:50
Sir Struth didn't say Barcelona did I? But look at the teams linked with Min-Su. Ajax, Fenerbahce, other top European teams, same with Dragojevic, same with Nedoljkovic.

Rak Saki is another overrated English player that would cost a premium and is no better than Gassama.

Agree, Wishy, glad we have moved away from Saki & Duberry.

Me too, Dado, so much better value for money out there for us.

Rak Saki had 15 goals and 9 assists last year on loan at Charlton when they won League One. He's available for £5 mil and is currently on the books at Palace, a Premier League team, so obviously has something. Duberry stats were 10 goals and 13 assists in the same league and we bid 8.5 mil, which was knocked back and thought about bidding 10 mil for.

So Rak Saki is a no brainer, plus he's bigger and probably better built than Duberry for the SPL. Madness.

Yeah, Scotty, then he went up a level to the Championship and got 3 goals in 15. A league where Gassama got better stats. As I said, doing well in English League 1 does not mean you are good enough for Rangers.

Aasgaard got great stats in that league as well. He's almost 24 as well, not like he's a young boy like Kim, whose career has been a constant upwards trajectory.

5m is still a lot of money for our level.

Need to tell the board, as Duberry talks are still ongoing.

Point I'm making is we are in active talks to get Duberry for 10 mil, or a loan if he signs a new deal with Brighton. There's a similar player who has similar stats at a similar age and level available for less than 5 mil who we previously wanted on a loan deal with an obligation to buy for 10 mil.

So, we could get the left footed rw we need for a much cheaper price, or, if Brighton play hard ball, then it could be another option for us.
