Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.🔴⚪🔵

That win and result is what they need for confidence. Let's hope we kick on from here.

There was a totally different desire and energy about them yesterday that I haven't seen in a long time. It was a typical McInnes performance when he gets it right.

Raskin encouraging players and not hiding.
Gassama looked like he wanted to put himself in shop window, not played like that for long time. Penrice showed the desire you hope for.
The Japanese winger ran himself ragged, just hope in time he will be a ninety minute player.
Yea, more pass marks than not.
Big question for manager, where was that performance in our first 4 games?

Great to see a team effort. Players seemed to understand the tactics and stuck to their own job to good effect.
For once we didn't have a poor player in the pitch (some better than others, obviously).
Great debut from Penrice. Nice to see a defender actually defend. As DM said post match, Penrice brought balance to the team.
It's only one result but it was one we really needed.
Come on the Gers.

Penrice even touched on this, Ehl, in his post match reaction.
So, if it's something the players themselves are aware of, that can surely be a good thing, as they can discuss and work on it in the coming months.

Like you say, EHL, that only comes from grinding out wins, then it becomes second nature.

We definitely started both halves with intent, and we've had prolonged spells in every match where we're showing signs of it.
However, after St Mirren scored, we shrank and sat back for 20 minutes, and we were lucky they didn't capitalise.
This is what we need to work on - we can't let a couple of mistakes shift the momentum of a game.
We need to build the belief in the squad that no matter what happens, we can battle through it.
It'll take time though, and will only come when we start to grind out a couple victories from the jaws of defeat.

EHL, maybe the nervousness wouldn't creep in so much if we weren't persevering with Fernandes? I know we've been all over the shop as a team lately, and making too many changes, but he seems to have been at the forefront of almost every weak moment lately. Can't be easy for anyone playing around teammates who they know they probably can't depend on? Makhanya looks a really good asset to me, so with the same solidity by his side it will surely make the players up the pitch relax a bit more? It was only a home match vs St Mirren, without meaning any disrespect, but my confidence in a victory pre-match wasn't that high.
Getting that win out of the way, and the players being able to walk away with a few goals behind them and up the tunnel to applause instead of a chorus of boos will inspire them to be a team and put trust in each other. Or you'd hope that this is the effect it will have. We will slip up again in the coming weeks, but we need to make all the right noises if the team are to settle.
