With Chermiti signing a 4 year contract last September, and an ACL taking the majority of the season to recover from, we could potentially lose him for £0.
He'll be 2 years in by the time he's training again, and will then have to prove himself again next season. It's not always something players come back from and are exactly the same.
Hoping the sporting department have a new deal lined up for him to sign, can't see us getting any £20M+ bids for him with 1 year left on a deal and coming back from an ACL.

The luck we have regarding injuries with players is absolutely insane.
11 Aug 2026 19:45:39
So, with 2 years left on his deal, how would we lose him for zero? There's no chance, no, the club will let any big assets leave for zero.
11 Aug 2026 19:52:40
He's young enough to recover but let's see how he is after his op.
11 Aug 2026 20:04:26
Can you not do the math, Peter?
4 year deal. 1 year in. 1 year to recover. 1 year to get back to match fitness. Can't see him signing a new deal if he can guarantee a free transfer and higher wages.

Are you serious? Take a breath, mate, and drop the dramatics. 🤣
11 Aug 2026 20:12:39
Sunshine was just a question. I couldn't care if we have him or not, as long as we have a decent striker.
Everyone on here seems to want to jump down posters' throats. Give your head a wobble, Sunshine.
11 Aug 2026 20:15:59
Nah, I'm fine as I am, bud. 😁
11 Aug 2026 20:19:11
Need to drop the dramatics then.
11 Aug 2026 20:27:28
Ak7, or he could have an amazing 1st 6 months back and get sold in the Jan with 18 months remaining on contract.
11 Aug 2026 20:32:09
Definitely could have a good 1st 6 months and be sold in January. At that point, 18 months left, we might get £20M?
Or could always be another Ryan Kent? £7M+ down the drain.
11 Aug 2026 20:41:12
Things change fast in football, sadly. Let's hope he has a speedy recovery. I share your concerns, AK7.
11 Aug 2026 20:41:51
🤣🤣🤣🤣 Stop digging, mate!
11 Aug 2026 20:58:53
Digging what, Sunshine?
11 Aug 2026 21:32:50
It wasn't a question, though, mate, it was a statement, and it won't take him a year to get back to full fitness. Jesus wept.
11 Aug 2026 21:44:41
Strom, an ACL will be at least 9 months out, which is the full season. Even if he gets back in April, what kind of fitness will he have?
I don't understand why everyone gets their knickers in a twist for people posting to a banter forum. Any reason you're so annoyed, Strom?
11 Aug 2026 22:15:21
What about the one year option.
11 Aug 2026 22:15:44
So comes back in April/May. Straight into a preseason, so regaining fitness will never be an issue. Signs a year extension to allow club to make money on him.
11 Aug 2026 22:22:37
All hypothetical folks. Which is why I posted.
Didn't know about the option, John. Team option to make it 5? Does he end up on better terms in that case?
11 Aug 2026 22:22:39
Why are we worrying about things that haven't even happened?
11 Aug 2026 22:41:11
Probably could negotiate more wages, AK7. I had thoughts along those lines, mate, not about losing him for nothing, but about how long it would take to see him back at his best. He has only had one season in a top flight league. It took him a few months before we seen his best.
For him to be out for what could be a year, possibly, really sets his development back, as I thought he could really kick on this year. So yeah, that was my thoughts, however long he'd be out, how long before back to fitness, then how long before we see his best? Really feel for the boy.
