Rangers Fans Demand Answers After Another Mess

{Ed's Note - Sunshine supporter FC has posted a new article entitled, Rangers Fans Demand Answers After Another Mess

After what you witnessed yesterday?

11 Aug 2026 10:44:41
Couldn't agree more, ss. Storm made a good point yesterday about McInnes and co maybe struggling to talk players into coming here. He isn't exactly a household name, I get it isn't always about that, but sometimes little things like that can be the difference maker. When someone like Gerrard is chasing your signature, you sit up and take notice.

I posted yesterday about how big a game Thursday could be, for the manager, fans, etc. It's absolutely huge in terms of finances, getting fans back onside, confidence for the players, possibly attracting certain players.

Bb4, that's the nicest thing anyone has ever said about me on here. 😂 It must be the first time ever I have made a good point. 🤦‍♂️

SS, good post mate, not much I can disagree with at all. 👌

Agreed, guys, I would be very surprised if any of our recent squad signings had heard of DM before they met him. Not exactly our best selling point, put that with our club performance over last 10 years & it will be a thankless task to talk young players who have no idea of history etc. to come here to a 3rd rate league.

This mess would of happened under the old ownership, potentially worse as they had no money left & Clement had to scrape together a transfer budget. Has the money been poorly spent? Yes, but it was there.

CEO is left over from the old, the DoF was wrong, there was 1 failed manager, Rohl took us closer to the title then any manager since Gerrard & had Martin's bunch playing football & we could actually defend, improved a lot of players whilst McInnes has made them worse & us as a whole, you can blame recruitment for that, but he's as much to blame for recruitment too as there is no DoF dictating thinks & he has picked these players.

We made the wrong appointment in Russell Martin when there was better managers on the shortlist. I personally think McInnes was the wrong appointment too, he just bottled the league, they were terrible from January & he refused to change tactics, there's been talk that Bloom was close to sacking him but this is the man fans wanted because he's a Rangers man & knows the league, he was picked by the new CEO who is also a Rangers man.

If you are spending the type of money we are, I believe we should be aiming for a higher quality of manager & paying extra to get them in or paying to get one out of a job. I would not of sacked Clement & gave him the money, I would of moved Koppen to DoF before ever hiring Thelwell, others will disagree with me on that & it's not hindsight thinking from me.

Has the takeover been perfect? No, but most takeovers take time before success comes look at Leeds & our problem is if we don't win anything then we want the manager sacked when it's impossible to build a winning team in a single season. Would you rather have a Green or Whyte back at Rangers?

Mystar, lots has been said before, and by previous boards and some who were basically charlatans. Talk is cheap, and with clever sound bites have all looked impressive. Let's see if they back it up with some action now and if they can walk the walk too.

11 Aug 2026 11:46:01
Storm, not the first time you've made a good point, it's actually the second time in about ten years. 😂 Joking, mate, you make plenty good points, a just don't tell you in case you get a bigger head than you already have. 😁 Honestly though, a manager with no clout, a backwater league, team finishing 3rd, no CL football, possibly no Europa, players definitely consider all these things, Storm.

That was one thing I hadn't considered. Depending on the player, it could play a bigger part than many think.

11 Aug 2026 12:19:49
DJB, You're right about what happened under Clement, makes you wonder what could have happened if we had kept him and not turned Martin loose on the club last summer. Norwich look to be building a good team and I wouldn't be surprised to see them get promoted this season.

11 Aug 2026 12:31:00
Boy blue, Storm, ❤️ Feeling the love.

11 Aug 2026 12:35:33
DJB, I take your points, but would say that Souness and Walter put a winning team on the park in year 1. No psycho babble, just high standards, knowing a good player, building your team from defence, and star dust motivation.

11 Aug 2026 12:40:18
Can you elaborate, My Star?

11 Aug 2026 13:14:38
Sunshine, what do you mean yesterday?

11 Aug 2026 13:26:04
Mystar, his post about yesterday was after the game and before the board spoke.

11 Aug 2026 13:37:47
Jfm, never read it fully. That was what I was meaning about the Hibs game. On another day we win that game easily. Hibs hardly troubled us.

11 Aug 2026 13:55:59
Unfortunately, it wasn't played on another day.

11 Aug 2026 14:25:09
Jfm, we had no luck in that game. Very unfortunate, it was looking like only one team was winning it.

11 Aug 2026 14:48:17
I get what you mean, but you can't win a game if you're never ahead. Never a penalty, and Hibs just defended the whole game until the last minute breakaway. Our attempted finishes were poor.
