I want AC to come out and tell us why this transfer window has been so bad and why there is not at least two marqee signings in cause we are already three games in where it matters and why is the defence really light with really only two half decent wingers its about time fans got answers i think DM is a decent manager but he is not getting the tools to do his job The board need to be held accountable now its going into the 10 of aug on monday and there is obvious positions needing filled with quality

I said last week that we could be out of Europe and the Tim's carry on in the Champions League. If this was to happen, I reckon the club are in serious problems financially? We maybe shouldn't be signing anymore players until after qualifying rounds.

You can only judge a transfer window at its end, and doing deals for players of the quality we need, and the prices we are being quoted, is not easy. Also, AC could do all you ask with a monkey on his head while riding a unicycle, and many of our fanbase would still be far from satisfied.

Blue Bear, Dado said nothing like that. He asked a very valid question: did AC say we would get 2 marquee signings, since he needs to answer the question of where they are.

Can’t really see any marquee signings coming to us permanently, a loan marquee signing maybe, but any top player in their right mind would not touch us with a barge pole until we stop all this chopping and changing every 6 months with managers and players. Rebuild after rebuild is not working anymore. It's causing more harm than good. We need to stick with McInnes for 2 to 3 seasons minimal, but most of our fans will not agree to that. I'm completely fed up with it all as well, it's heartbreaking to watch this season after season with very little if any change. We need consistency, and giving a manager time to build a team is the only way. We're constantly in recovery mode from the previous manager, but we are caught in this loop of needing to do well in Europe every season to bring in more money, which we were under Gerrard where we've had some absolutely cracking nights at Ibrox, where we were more than holding our own against top top teams.
But it's all caught up with us now, and we're nowhere near that anymore even in the league as well, all because we never built or progressed properly on winning the league or getting to the Europa League final, mostly caused by lack of money and mismanagement. We're not all on the same page as fans, players, managers and board etc. in my opinion anyway, but it's all about opinions and we all have them. We'll never all agree with everything, I suppose, but hopefully we start getting better results soon.

I think it's the terminology in this thread.
Marquee signings, people have different expectations.
I would like to see two quality proper creative football players.

GMJ u can still judge the signings even if not the whole window. And it's 9 players so far without any improvement, which is more than we should in any window.

Kaiser, I can happily agree that we can judge what we have in the door so far. My point was in expecting AC to comment during a window period. There is just too much noise and emotion from the outside. He could update us every day and be contradicting himself every 24 hours, especially as his manager, in my opinion, is doing far too much talking about deals that are not complete and players he doesn't yet have.
I would make the case that it is only reasonable to congratulate or eviscerate AC at the end of the window.

Fair point about AC, GMJ. Can't come out every day. He better have some explanation though for letting us down, because we could be out of Europe and 7/8 points being Celtic heading to Parkhead just after the window closes if he doesn't pull things round quickly.

I've said it on here before, but what's a marquee signing for us? Aaron Ramsay was a marquee signing, and that was a disaster. Skov Olsen was probably considered one too, and was even worse.
Guys like Morelos, Igamane, etc. were nowhere near marquee, but done great. Are people expecting us to sign some top player from a top league, or just whack £15m on someone and say it's marquee?

I'm beginning to think a marquee signing is one who can play in a position we actually need and looks like a 1st team player, not a bench warmer.
