This JHD situation is ripping my knitting now.
I have absolutely no idea what's going on and have 0% info.
However, from what I've read and heard. I'm putting 2+2 together and getting that the club and the players agent are at it.
And possibly trying to hold other clubs and maybe even their own player to ransom.
I understand that the club want to get the best £ for him, but they keep shifting goalposts from the sounds of it.
Also, isn't it an agents responsibility to act on behalf of the player and try and manufacture the move he wants not what the agent wants
Or I could be putting 2+2 together and getting 5, but something feels off.
As a fan it's frustrating, so I can only imagine how he's feeling if it is us he wants to come to.
If Cardiff etc offer more than us, but he doesn't want to go to them. They'll end up with an unhappy player on their hands. Will they not?
Obviously, I don't know the facts, but if it's along these lines, I'd be very tempted to walk away from any deal.

5 weeks of window to go.

Gazza, it's pretty simple, pal.
Nobody matched the valuation in January, and they didn't want to sell at that time anyway, so the bids got knocked back.
He was heavily linked with Sporting and Benfica after that for this summer.
Neither club has bid for him.
Rangers and Cardiff both have yet to match the club's valuation.
Cardiff have come closest.
Rangers and the player have reportedly agreed terms through the agent, and the player has informed his club it's only Rangers he wants.
Someone posted earlier that Sporting are maybe going to come back in for him now.
The player doesn't fancy Cardiff as far as I can see.
If we match the valuation then the player will be ours.
We don't look like we're going to bid again unless we move on at least 2 mf players soon.

Boom, Stevie G, best breakdown I've seen on it!
As Wishy said in another post, folk saying categorically that it's happening or not happening don't have a clue, so stop lying.
Just look at what happened with Diawara.
It's not over either way until the player has the scarf (or cake) above their head.
As it stands I'd say there's more chance he'll end up at us. I think the key move is Raskin leaving.

Blue89, it's a deal I'm seriously invested in, mate.
He's a player I just absolutely love the look of.
I also think he will be a Rangers player as soon as we move Raskin and Diomande or Barron on 2 from 3 of them.
Our and we will see Dahl. imo of course.

Just a wee question to get your opinion, Stevie G, to who you think is the better midfielder between Connor Barron and Cammy Devlin, as both are similar and play in the same midfield position mate. 🤔

Is Barron not currently injured & have we actually made a bid for Dhal? Do we really want to spend near 8m on an unproven 20 year old? If he was superstar made out to be on here, why has there not been long list of clubs trying to sign him.
Would rather keep Raskin & build team around him, Fernandez, Chermiti, plus new Gk. We were always at our best when spine of team was strong.
Just another alternative thought.

Gazza, that's like adding 2+2 and getting 22.

Sws, Barron will have a better career than Devlin.
25 Jul 2026 11:13:45
Devlin has already played at the World Cup and been in a title race with Hearts. Barron has done neither, and to be quite honest, doesn't look as if he will make it at Rangers, whereas Devlin showed more in 45 minutes the other night than Barron has in his whole Rangers career so far.
25 Jul 2026 11:34:56
I disagree, Box to Box. Barron was our best player until his unfortunate injury last season.
25 Jul 2026 11:57:07
Box to Box, Barron will play in far better leagues, and again have a better career than Devlin will.
Showed more in 45 minutes than Barron has in his Rangers career is right up there as far as nonsense goes.

Coops, it's a good question, mate. And a fair one, considering Barron's being shipped out to accommodate Devlin, really by the looks of things.
The way I answer these questions is simple. Who would u rather have in your 11. My answer would be Barron.
I think Devlin has more dig about him, he tackles more, and he doesn't miss.
Barron for me is more of a runner, more of an engine.
As a 6, I'd prefer Devlin, as an 8, I'd prefer Barron.
2 in the middle, I'd prefer Barron too.
And I agree he'll have a better career.

Its not nonsense mate, its true, Devlin has currently achieved more than Barron has. Has Barron been in a title race or played at the World Cup? No he hasn't, Devlin has. How do you know Barron will have a better career?
