Plenty of views about last night and yes we need to remember it was just a friendly but every game is a competitive game in my eyes.
The one player who I've already mentioned and he's been mentioned by others is Big Manny.
He came and was settling in everyone could see he was a bit raw ( bear in mind he's now 24) then hit a good patch of play for a run of games and received a lot of praise which he earned, this is where the but comes though, I believe it went to his head a bit, his form dipped and he was strutting about like he had figured out football and was prime Maldini.
The defence last night and it wasn't just him but it was sliced open with ease and manny was bypassed so many times and his recovery effort was a casual jog.
I'm not meaning this to be a negative post he can be brilliant for us he just needs to screw the nut.
(And maybe not listen to Kevin Thompson on RTV cause I don't know what game he was watching)

Couldn't agree more, Wullie, brilliant post, he needs competition to really screw the nut.

Motm for Thompson. 😂😂 Prob tells you why he's no longer a manager.

Willie was at the game myself, and I also thought defence was shaky and easy to play through. Nate in mind, they had a training session yesterday, and going into the game I thought some looked heavy legged, but I'm solely putting that down to yesterday's training and also some double training sessions.
Once DM gets his settled team, I believe defence will be solid enough. I may be in the minority, but I thought Devlin has that bit of dig that's been missing recently, and he may or may not be best passer of the ball, but I'm sure he will have plenty around him with better distribution that will help him out.

I loved KT as a player, but my God, I cannot go him as a commentator, he's a sore head.

Most of the players were poor last night. I actually think the formation was a problem too. Rangers had plenty bodies up top but not enough in midfield.
If we're being critical, we could point fingers at just about everyone including the manger. I'm actually just going to write it off a pre-season game and hopefully we don't play like that again.

Really concerned about our defence. It's been something that was obvious needing sorted, but we are even weaker with a week to go. 6/7 out and only 2 in is nowhere near good enough. It gives serious concerns that owners learned nothing from last year about needing to be ready for the start of the season.

You can't blame the owners, Kaiser. The fans wanted a Scottish manager and the owners gave them one. The fans wanted Tavernier and others gone, and they are. McInnes has already signed 6 players.
The board have done their job. McInnes needs to do his job and go and win the SPFL title next season.
Hearts and Celtic are in a shambles. Winning the league should be more than achievable with the resources McInnes has been given. I can't see how the board would be to blame at all.

I've been constructively critical of Fernandez for a long time now. He makes more mistakes in a game than Souttar, and gets very little criticism.
Given that McInnes has no interest in dominating the ball and his mantra will be to move the ball forward as quickly as possible and take risks in the final third - I struggle to see where he fits, especially on the left hand side of the defence.

RWC, all the fans didn't want a Scottish manager. Some did. Still too early to tell if it's right or wrong. Some fans wanted Tav away years ago.
The owners and recruitment team are buying the players so they are at fault as they haven't addressed the defence apart from one loan, which is a 50/50 whether it will work, especially with his injury record.
We need a starting right back, another 2 CH, and a back up left back, and that's before we get wingers.

Can't disagree Storm, I feel that we are underprepared for the start of the season. These positions should have been addressed by now. I get still a long time left in the window, but it's imperative we get off to a good start and a settled squad.

I agree to an extent about Fernandez but nobody is talking about how bad Rommens was last night. At one point he lost the ball on the halfway line and just stopped. I like and rate the guy but he was very poor and if we're talking about competition for his place, what about him.
A 16 year old who is currently injured is all the challenge he has.
His relationship with Manny on the left is poor and I reckon we need a left centre back who is more comfortable covering out left and would allow Manny to go on the right of the pair.

Rohl, it's about the Scottish manager or players I'm referring to. It's about not having a squad ready for the start of the season. Particularly in defence. They said they got it wrong last year with only one left back. And now, we are one week away, with not only one left back but only 4 recognised defenders, with Souttar out of the squad and Sterling already needing injections.
So yes, I've concerns about the board because, as yet, they haven't done anything to address the biggest problems in our team.

Meant to text Not about Scottish manager etc.
