I wonder if Doekhi will soon be joined up with Connor Barron at Lazio. Gattuso is a big admirer of wee Connor, according to an article I read yesterday. Stranger things have happened, I suppose.

The thing with Ferguson is how good the club sell their offer. If you are offered the role as Club Captain with your boyhood club, that both your Old Man and Uncle played for, and you still attend games as a fan, it would be very very hard to not take up that opportunity. Personally, that pull would be too strong to turn away.

All good points, Jasper, although he could also stay in Italy or move to another top 5 league and challenge himself against really good teams/players every week and earn potentially 2 or 3 times a week what we would pay him.

I agree with everything you say, Jasper. I don't think anything would change within 5 years for Ferguson. In my opinion he'll be thinking all of those factors are still relevant when he is 32/33.

Might be the deciding factors if everything else was equal, ie quality of life, quality of league, wages etc etc. If I could live in Italy iso Scotland I would be off tomorrow.
