Evening guys, hope everyone is enjoying the sun. Was in the pub the other day and as usual the conversation was mostly about the gers. One of the questions that came up was, would fans prefer to see a return of M. Moore on a year long loan or sign Just on a 4 year deal.
I would be esp interested to hear EHL take on this as he appears to be more clued up on what both players can offer the team skill tactic ect

Would prefer a move for Moore than just, but don't think Moore is as important as a lot of fans. He's got great potential, but would rather we bought another Gassama like project to compete, 20-25yr old with decent goal contributions.

Stewart, Elija, just for me, mate, he would be ours to sell if the right offer came in.

If we have a chance to sign Moore, we have to do it! He creates chaos with his ball carrying, and numbers will improve year after year. He's a top talent.

R1, I agree the numbers will most likely come with Moore, but will that be next season?
If it's only a loan, it's a large outlay for hoping his numbers improve to the level of his dribbling etc because currently I would back Curtis to comfortably beat Moore on end product should both players have same minutes over a season.
Moore loan or just perm, I would take just.
Moore perm or just perm, I would take Moore for sure.

Moore was great for Rangers last season, but hopefully Curtis is given a chance, and maybe sign Just to play RW, who was excellent at Motherwell and with NZ at the WC.
Also, he would fit our player trading model.

Personally, between those two options I'd go for the permanent signing of Just.
He's nowhere near as good as Moore, but he's technically and physically good enough for our league and would make more sense financially.
Moore is still very raw. The loan will cost us around £2-3m again, and I'm not sure its value for money to develop another club's player at that price when we're in a cycle of continuous rebuild and in desperate need of continuity.

Makes sense to me, Ehl, agreed. ?

Copland, not sure if you mean Moore or Just would fit our PTM? Moore would, not too sure about Just, he's 26, fair chance if we were to move him on it would be after a couple seasons at 28, where it's probable you wouldn't get more than we'd need to pay to get him in the first place, as he'll command a decent fee, even though he's in his final year (I think, with a possible 1year extension).
My understanding is that 21-24 with high potential is our PTM for larger outlays, then players like Shanks, Godfrey & McRorie on smaller / loan fees will bolster the experience side of things, without breaking the bank.

Amo, agreed there's not a huge amount of profit in Just, but nothing wrong with having players who are good for us. I liked Moore, but the massive loan fees just aren't worth it, only to develop for someone else unless they're already at levels we couldn't find elsewhere. Moore isn't at that level yet.

Moore coming back to me would seem a step back for the in, as much as he is being told he is not first team ready or even squad for Spurs, granted Spurs have spent a lot of money.

Just for me.

Said exactly that on here last week, Ehl, we shouldn't be developing other teams' players unless they're going to contribute heavily. I don't think Moore did, imo.
