"The Rangers Review understands that the targets that were previously being pursued to add to Rohl's ranks are still being worked on and there is unlikely to be a significant deviation despite the change in the dugout, as players are signed by the club for the club rather than by a boss and for a boss. "

"The shift towards a Scottish and British core, with more emphasis on the mental requirements of being a Rangers player, was decided long before McInnes was approached or appointed. ".

Chris, I think Derek McInnes will have a big say in already identified targets before he was appointed. ? He's been given the title Rangers manager as opposed to head coach. ?

Why would that matter, SWS? We have a full team involved in player recruitment. The whole idea is that we have a philosophy that should be continuous and not crumble every time we change a manager. This has been the whole problem previously, where every manager change has resulted in tactical changes resulting in rebuilds.

We say it all the time, just wait til he gets his own players and the manager leaves and process starts all over again. I am all for the manager having the say, but it needs to be a Rangers decision and not down to one person who might not be here tomorrow.

Listen, if the player is good enough Del will want them. Will he maybe not want 2 or 3 out the 10? Quite possibly, but I think we will still be going with 70-80 percent of our targets.

SWS, Russell Martin was just head coach and we saw how that went when he got to veto players we were going to sign and bring in his own. Managers do have more hands-on contact with areas of the club, but he will be offered 2-3 players to choose from, who all fit the way the club/team play.

So he won't be picking players he wants and getting them.

He will get a choice of player identified by our recruitment team. If one of the players he likes fits and the club agrees, he might get that player.

Not itk, but it is how I read it worked with Pep at City as the manager. Not sure why Rangers would be any different.

McInnes will be asked for his opinion ?, but he's not getting a free rein over who we sign. Those days are gone and rightly so. I expect 3/4 who were identified by Stig and the recruitment team to be signed and more to be brought in that will involve more input from DM.

The little information I have is that we have 2 players on site and ready to be announced, 2 players who will join the squad at a later date.

Potential outgoings have been discussed and there's 1 that McInnes wants to speak to with a view to retaining.

Additional targets have also been discussed and the only changes to these have been a slight adjustment to the prioritisation.

EHL cheers for that and that actually makes more sense than some of the conjecture going around.

Interesting info, EHL.

Possibly the 2 that will join later are WC players. ?

The potential outgoings: is this a player that's been told they're free to find a new club or one who wants away? If you know, can you say?
