Hello lads n lassies, not been on in while so playing catch up.
Just about every season we seem to get a new dawn (no more false ones please).

Looking at DM, what do you think his priorities will be. How will he want to set up a DM Rangers team? . I am hoping he can adapt in games which seemed a problem last season. Once again l find myself looking forward to the new season but, it is tinged with a tad deja vu. For me that comes with swimming in the blue blue sea.
Keep them coming folks.

Aggressive & versatile going forward, resolute & definitive at the back.

I'm not saying Mciness is a tactical genius or the smartest manager around, but I am confident his priority will be silverware over a style.

For too long we have had managers who are 'project' managers who believe in a style, and find it baffling that this can't be implemented with the group we have or isn't successful in the league, away from home in plastic pitches or against the low block, for example.

Rangers should have one style and one style only, and it's silverware.

Walter knew how to win games and tried to pepper that with brilliance when possible. We have Chermiti and might soon have Moore or an alternative gem, but I fully expect the priorities in every other position to be work ethic, physicality, fitness and passion.

That'll do for me.

Do for me too, Gersgooner. Trophies over philosophy every time - give us winners.

I think that the Walter football being unattractive isn't right though and comes purely from the 4-5-1 formation he used to win in Europe. Other games he tried to play attacking football.

Winning is the end goal, but I would prefer we did it with some style and panache.

It is an entertainment business, so surely we can ask for that.

I hope that with better (? ) players that McInnes can adapt his more direct, defensive style to one which makes us an attractive and winning team. The two aren't mutually exclusive imo.

Derek McInnes is old school and knows the priorities in order as a Rangers manager, which is win first at all costs and then comes winning with a bit of style and good football. ? Derek knows what we all know and needs to happen, i.e. our club has to win trophies, simple as that. ? I think McInnes can bring us success. ? ??

I'm hoping Derek has the big Eck factor for us. Now that would be something.

Don't think Del has managed a team where the fan expectation is to win every game, no room for errors or excuses, and to play against low blocks for the majority of the time to then flip again when we play Celtic or in Europe.

Here is hoping he does it.

McInnes hasn't managed a club yet that has to win every game, geesadodothat. ? But my point is he knows inside out that that's expected of him, being a boyhood Rangers supporter and having played 5 years with Rangers; that's why he knows the script, mate. ? ??

Seeker, the appointment of Derek McInnes as our new manager, mate, gives me very similar feelings to when we appointed Big Alex McLeish in December 2001. ? I see a few similarities, mate. ? ?? If Del is anywhere near as successful a Rangers manager that Big Eck was, we'll all be very happy. ??
