Just a question for EHL and the likes
I was told when DR was appointed he liked to play fast football on the front foot. Clearly we haven't seen a lot of that this season.
Do you think this is down to the players he has inherited and had to adapt a system to suit them?

From EHL previous responses, I think 100% the players not being able to or conditioned to playing RM style, i.e. possession-based football. He also said it was almost impossible to change midstream.
That being the case, I would hope that with new players and preseason, we see more of his desired style in the new season.

We r being told players r conditioned to run a marathon, but Rohl wants sprints, I'm confused, if trained to run a marathon why do they only last 45 minutes?
It's simply an excuse for sub standard players and coaches.
Wonder what next season's excuses will be.

Ah, just what we all want to see 80%+ possession and drawing 1 each with most of the teams or getting beaten.
The Rangers way. ?

John, this is the biggest lot of crap that was ever put on here. Trained a certain way, but can only last 45 mins. ?♂️ How long does it take to run a marathon? If it was true, they would have stamina in abundance, but they haven't. Just another excuse for people that want Rohl kept.

Maybe, instead of training for marathons, what if they were just taught to do something with a football instead. And, to sort out their half Hearts attitudes. We don't need Mo Farah.

The problem is, they are not coached to get in shape when we don't have the ball. That's why we are so open and lose so many goals. Look at a team like Arsenal, everybody does their job defensively when they don't have the ball, and then they press from there.
Even the much maligned Clement said, when he took over from Beale, that he had to teach the players where they were supposed to be in certain situations. Rohl is not doing that.

Storm, that is my take. But I'm being told that's not how it works nowadays. I speak very regularly to a Premier League player and some ex managers, they say it's an easy excuse.
Kaiser, I've watched Rangers train on a few occasions over the years.
It's dreadful. Only three I rated: Souness, Smith, Advocaat.
This modern day style of training is very poor imo.
I remember watching David Moyes training a team. Now that was training.
Good post, Wsl.
