Not going to defend Rohl 100% but Gio, clement and Beale and Martin all had same issue with this Team.
It can't be always the managers fault, he got us top of league for a short spell and dont think he changed his style of play and we fell apart.
Leaking goals every game, No confidence.
Yeah manager has to take some blame but it's not all on him if these guys can't chase every ball for 90 mins like your Hearts n Celtic then it's on them.
U can't say Rohl tells them to not chase everything, Of course he does.
Players have a losing mentality
Maybe it stems for the captain
Who knows but Celtic challenge every decision against them and we just take it on the chin
That right away is a losing mentality for me.

Good first post mate, ultimately the manager will always bear the blame for poor runs of form, I've no doubt he is aware of the pressure he is under. I'm certain that he is now trying to implement his style of play on a team that is just not right to do it, for the sole purpose of setting the foundations he can build on next season. Whether that's the right thing is anybody's guess.
Personally, I don't see a style of play that you can utilise with this squad that we haven't already tried. Can't use wing player, wingers always lose the ball, can't play mid to low blocks as the defence can't defend their own box, can't try and play through the middle or play possession as the midfield can't control a game or create anything.
It's just purely a poor team with no balance at all.
I agree with EHL, in that we need a solid DOF in place because even if you sack him, who is going to lead the process to replace him and what due diligence will be done to ensure he's the right fit for the strategy of the club and plans for the summer. All very sad times for us, the only silver lining will be them not winning the league.

But it's not this team. The majority of the players have been different for each manager. It's something far bigger.

It's the leadership group, or lack of it, doesn't help. When they aren't of a high standard, then what do we expect? No one in that team should have an ego as they aren't good enough to have an ego.
It's 100% about mentality. I know I keep saying it, but will keep saying it till am blue in the face.

The leadership group are in the main despised by the squad
Tav Butland and Soottar Dowell backed Martin against Raskin. It was them
who pushed Stewart to ban Raskin from stadium for Celtic game
I can't wait till Raskin moves on and tells the story.

100% the 'Leadership Group' is the problem.
It elevates players within the social group as if they are on dome don't of pecking order. Get rid of it immediately. The Club Captain and Vice Captain only should be the bridge between players and the Coaching/ Management Group. It's their task to make the Manager/Head Coach plan work on the park and to adapt and change when necessary.
Too many chiefs/ too many cooks, the team look clueless on the park because of it. Team wise, our top priority should be the correct Club Captain identified and recruited. We need not just a leader on the park, but also a Commander.

Hope they are all amongst the group that leaves, John. I completely agree they are one of the biggest issues in our team. I'm so split about Rohl. He's done a lot wrong, but at the same time, I don't rate any of the players he was left with from the mess, so is it him or them or both, and we need a complete clean sweep.

What leadership group? We have about 3 guys playing who were here last season. Everyone else has been replaced.
Rather than start another 'I hate James Tavernier' thread, just wait 2 games and he'll be gone.
No captain, no leaders, nobody in the squad that has ever even won the league (Tavernier is the only player we have that has achieved it). You'll need to find someone else to pin all the blame on very shortly.

RWC, I don't see the blame being put on Tav alone, but he is part of the leadership group. That group needs to be scrapped immediately. It serves no purpose. The Club Captain should carry the players' voice. Tav has been an outstanding player. Unfortunately, he doesn't possess the great leadership qualities and presence of our great Captains of the past.
That's what we are missing and what the Club needs to address and rectify quickly. We need someone who can motivate and inspire the players to achieve success. Walter Smith, Advocaat and Alex McLeish all had great success partly because they had great Captains.
