Where's Angus when you need him for some much needed positivity?.
10 May 2026 16:40:21
Even Angus would be struggling to find any positives today, mph.

I don't even think Angus could give any positivity after that, mate.

There is none, Mph. I keep telling myself it can't get any worse, and sure enough, it does.

Well, Angus might not be here, but I waken up each morning and thank the Lord that I am a Rangers supporter. No matter what is thrown at me, I always have the Rangers and my family.

Mph, just for you. I never actually expected us to win the league this season. In my view, the fact that we even got close was a minor miracle, considering Rohl inherited a young, unconditioned squad lacking confidence. Even so, knowing we'd likely fall short doesn't make these last three results hurt any less.
The real positives lie in next season. We've already identified targets for long-standing holes in the squad, and a full pre-season will be transformative. As EHL pointed out, you can't build "sprint conditioning" mid-season—it's like asking a marathon runner to suddenly become a sprinter.
That's why we've been a "45-minute team" this year.
Between the physical improvements, the growth of players like Rommens, Fernandez, and Chermiti, and the clearing of deadwood (loanees and out-of-contract players), the squad mentality is bound to improve.
The owners are also learning from their early mistakes and moving toward a long-term vision. We have to accept this short-term pain for long-term gain; the alternative is just another "rinse and repeat" cycle of sacking managers. Rohl got us closer than we had any right to be, and I'm backing the process. But then I am just a happy clapper, remember. ?

Rohl hasn't done as good a job as you make out, Angus. The only reason we got back in was because Celtic appointed Nancy.
Can anyone make any positives of winning 6 games out of 16 against the top 6 for Rohl?

Angus, I beg to differ re fitness and training, and so does an ex man manager, also ex England manager. It might not have been perfect, but the process of change could have been started
The problem is terrible players and a poor tactician.
Angus, you and I and many others be saying the same next May.

Storm, you could argue that the only reason we even needed to "get back into it" was because Martin dropped 16 points in the first eight games of the season.
So, with a young, poorly conditioned squad, isn't it more likely they'd struggle against the top six sides eventually? Even with that weaker run of results, he still has a better points-per-game record than anyone except Mon, and he kept us in the title race until the split.
Before the last three matches, the only top-six side to beat us in the league was Hearts — in fact, they were the only team to beat us in the league at all. We'd also taken 18 points from a possible 27 against the top six, and you call me out for only using stats to suit my argument. ?
But sure, let's sack him and hope the next manager does better with another new batch of players.
