Well troops it's the eve. Hearts result tonight will give them added spice to get a result. Why, cause they have actual players that are Celtic men and know what it means to play and win. Something we're clearly lacking. We lose tommorow and most Rangers players won't bat an eye lid and no doubt be out in town a few hours later. Just saying.

This is the worst Celtic team in over a decade. Even Celtic fans themselves will tell you that. This narrative, that Scottish Rangers fans are required before we can achieve anything, is starting to become toxic.
Look at the time Ally McCoist was in charge of Rangers.
I've seen a team managed by a Rangers fan, filled with Scottish players and Rangers men. It was horrible. We were 3rd in the Scottish Championship when McCoist was finally put on gardening leave.

Disagree, Davie. There will be no player in that dressing room that wouldn't care if they get beat tomorrow. Just because you're not from Scotland doesn't mean you don't understand rivalry.

Tav, I disagree with players. For the majority, Rangers mean nothing to them bar a stepping stone and a good wage, and that's it. Lot of talk lately of having a core Scottish contingent. That matters in these types of games.

If the Scottish contingent matters, why have Celtic won 14 out of 15? With a squad of internationals and the Scottish McGregor? American CB's, Japanese and Koreans, Portuguese and Germans, Canadians and Danes.
The year we won the league, English and Croatians, Colombians and Fins, Northern Irish and Scottish.
If Hearts win the league this year, it won't be down to the nationality of their players, it will be down to the poor standards at Rangers and Celtic and the work ethic, and team cohesion of their team. Another squad of nationals and Motherwell, funnily enough, have few Scots in their squad as well, but everyone loves what they've done.

Let's not use the Championship years for a comparison, please. There were all sorts of reasons those were disasters. And, not just on the park, to put that aside. The type of players, Scottish or not, came for money and many didn't care either. You also need quality too, obviously.
No one is saying to just have Scots, but they want a Scots core or heart. A heart can be just a small part, but without the body it's useless, same as a body without a heart is dead.
Celtic had much more than just McGregor and Brown before him, who were their heart and drove them on. Even players who might not have had the best ability, but they gave their all because it mattered to them. Even the wealthiest clubs in the world target homegrown talent and supporters of their club for a connection with the fans. And that's all we want too. Players that get it and care because they love the club too.
