CJNovo sums it all up perfectly. I hate saying it but DR is not going to get us where we all want to be. Unless it's a situation of not having the players he wants that's ultimately failing.

However he is playing his part. More and more he tinkers with the squad. Olsen? Out of cold storage for the biggest game of the season and DRs biggest game to date! WTAH?

Sterling LB? Yet we have relied on Meghoma for virtually the whole season! Yeh he scored other than that he wasn't good at all.

Tav back in yet we dropped him time after time in the big games and when up against pace. Why?

Why such changes at such a crucial time? Not to mention the persistent use of Gassama on the right when he clearly can't do it. Sending Curtis out on loan when he is clearly better than Gassama in every department.

Tactics that baffle you when facing Motherwell, we leave Chucky on his own too often.

Rommens and Naderi fit for bench! But not to start? Sorry but if they make the bench you start them and sub early if you have to.

Time after time he try's to over think it, have one eye on the following week etc. Never just playing the game that's in front of us.

I don't think he's good enough. He will get next season for sure. But unless we smash the transfer market and get everything right there, and then see a significant change in mental attitude it will be another season of experimenting. Yet Hearts with hardly any money spent and no serial winners around. Show us what guts is all about!

We are pathetic! I've got very little left in the tank following my club. It's exhausting. 47 years! The last 15 or so have been murder with one happy blimp. Pathetic is the best word for me. Utterly pathetic.

Google, I agree, some decisions are a little baffling. I did personally think starting Tav would be good for set pieces, as we had so many v Motherwell where, if Tav was on the park, I think we would have had the chance. It's the tinkering of formation, constantly changing.

Personally I'd like a more settled formation. On Danny's defence, though, you look through the squad at how many players have been under perming this whole season. Recruitment will be key this summer.

Yeah some strange stuff at the end of season and can we finally address the holiday to Spain problem, every time our squad goes for a break they fail to come back. Club should now ban this practice, it's cost us season after season.

Also, starting to think Rohl a bit all over the place as if scrambling for answers and doesn't trust himself. Notice him shift a few times with public opinion, trying to keep folk happy rather than sticking by his own thoughts. Just my opinion.

Does anyone actually think why he did that? I was told Meghoma wasn't fit to start. Also, who else would we have put right side if we had to use Sterling to cover LB?

If anyone thinks it was tinkering, I am bemused. I believe it was necessity.

Where is Aaron's?

You can slag Rohl for a multitude of things, but not playing Meghoma is not one of them.

First half was a really astute tactical performance. Hearts didn't have a sniff and we looked comfortable and bossed the game. Playing Skov Olsen was probably for his experience, and I think, first half, it was the right call. He played some good passes and calmed things down.

We could have, and should have, gone for the jugular and tried to get the second before half time, as it was obvious McInnes would get them firing for the second half, and we should have expected them to come back strong. Our biggest downfall is our lack of killer instinct.

It's the same rubbish, different season, manager players. Since 55, the drive for European success has overtaken the drive for domestic success. This year we have bottomed out in both.

Too many assumptions that EPL experience in running clubs, having managers that base everything on technical ability and players from lower leagues will stroll up here whilst importantly make us a profit. That's our issue. We have created a team of non-thinking, no autonomy robots. Rabbits in headlights.

Tav is now leaving, so the new captain will probably be new to the club. Do they get the club, are they driven? Soapy easy option to give an extension, however, shouldn't have happened.

See Tav. No loan players should be given a contract. Such a gap in squad already.

It's been mentioned, but we really need a diverse mix of players who offer something different and allow for a different approach to certain games. Therefore we need a manager who thinks this way. Clement couldn't, and TBH I don't think Danny can.

Now, I don't expect Hearts to be a dominant force for years, but there is another variable we must contend with now, and this has to be the close season of success. I have my doubts. ??

Geesa, yes, Meghoma was injured.

05 May 2026 12:41:39
I had a feeling he would play Sterling at left back, injured or not, Meghoma has been honking since he came back into the team.

05 May 2026 13:02:28
That's fair enough if Meghoma is injured, but I would have started Rommens with Sterling as a sub or Aarons who has played there.

Hopefully, with further backing and a reshuffle of the leadership team, things improve.

Dr has a lot of questions to answer next season.

For all of my rant, I'm not necessarily suggesting he's sacked. That formula isn't working either.

Several managers, lots of new players and new owners, and still we are making the same mistakes.
