TBH I don't really care about the legend debate. My worry is the timing of announcement. Win league and he may well put more weight behind legend status for those on fence, but if we don't then queue the distraction / should never have been brought up before end of season etc.
(Hope he doesn't get deciding in any of the split games)
These announcements seldom come out the way you want them. Remember WS doing similar during the failed 10IAR season.

I'm the opposite on this occasion. It's one less distraction. The stick he gets normally will hopefully be reduced now it's known he's leaving, and everyone just hoping he gets a great send off with a title in the bag.

I don't see how this could even come close to being a distraction. I'm pretty sure every player and staff member in the building already knew that this was his last season months ago.

It's not a distraction but if we don't win the league, then fans that think like yourself will it was. He was constantly getting asked, and obviously him and the club, as they would have had to ok it, have decided the time is right.

Time will tell. I don't think it needed to be made public, and I do think it has potential to distract and add pressure on Tav. If it goes Pete Tong.
Boo boys don't come into it for me. They pick and choose their fall guy on a game by game basis.

Guys, we all knew this was going to happen. It was his last season. Totally different for a team member to leave than a manager. When Walter said he was leaving it was in January, and many team members didn't know their futures, and those who did know they were leaving went on the protectionism phase to ensure they were fit enough for their next team.
