I'm a bit late to the party with this post and the thread is way down the page.
I too have suffered some real bad times with mental health issues and have tried to check out a couple of times.
To those of you who have suffered similar or are going through something now, I say to you, there is always someone to talk with and someone who cares. As men we like to suffer in silence but talking is a fantastic way to lighten our load and a good first step.
As this site has shown, we will listen, we might not have answers but we will listen.
So take care of yourselves troops.

Great post, Cletus.
I bid you good fortune, my friend. Hold loved ones near.
Sometimes your own thoughts are the most destructive.

Superb heartfelt post Cletusvandamme. ? I've had some issues myself, but not as bad as some poor souls. ? God bless and take care, my friend, and we're always here to talk, and that goes for everyone on here. ?

Agree 100%. Just hope anyone out there going through difficult times finds something to focus on and keeps their chin up. We're all built in our own special way, it's not a one size fits all resolution. I went through a really bad time due to the breakup of my marriage about 6 years ago, and realised I was starting to drink too much. It was getting to be every night after work. I do put part of that down to me going to the pub for social company, as I wasn't used to being single, but when I met my new partner it was her that pointed it out to me.
Every time she gives me a wee call or a message, I was in the pub, and she told me she was worried she'd maybe come into something that wouldn't be for her, as she's not a big drinker herself. This made me stop and take stock of my life and where I wanted to go in life, and now I'm probably going through the happiest point in my life ever. Just try and keep the heads up, troops. Tomorrow's a whole new day.

Cletus, well done coming out with that, buddy, and you're absolutely correct about talking about problems. As men, we're a strange bunch for showing our feelings to any1. Like I've said on here, get it out, and we're all behind anybody that's having problems.

If you have or are experiencing mental health issues, contact a professional. A football forum won't solve your problems.
