We have a lot of fans looking for new signings asap and I can understand that. however think about the cost involved. We aren't back in training until 23rd so if it was possible to sign today we would have to pay their wages.
so we have say 6 OOC players we sign at £15k per week for 2 weeks would cost the club £180K and they would be on holiday. does that sound like sound economic sense for any club? would you rather the extra £200k went towards another salary for a development player?

Angus would we not start paying them once they arrived to start training on the 23rd
I'm sure deals can be struck just now possibly have deals In place for players starting when training g starts
That's when they will start being paid surely.

I get your point Angus but sometimes it's more beneficial for club and players to know exactly what's happening early in window so they can get settled a lot quicker, and as we have European football pretty much right away every little bit helps in terms of squad gelling / settling in quicker.

Possibly Stig but we can't sign them just now as window isn't open and if we did we would have to pay them. depends as well when their last contract ends or ended.
