Current board are treating the club like a corporate business. They have a plan, a business plan. After we won the league they thought the team was good enough so planned for commercial improvements to make the club more attractive to corporate investors, nobody could have envisioned the turnaround of Celtic and possibly also SG leaving. This season we should have invested in the team, the board stuck to their plan in their mind for the better if the business. in my opinion they got it wrong, first and foremost we are a football club and our main product is on the pitch, so each season we need to improve on the pitch, this season and last we have regressed. Failure by the board and team management. Changes needed from top to bottom but unfortunately we need a lot of money to bring on the quality required as the freebies from the championship just won't do it at champions league level and I mean win at least one match and not be embarrassed and also to break down stubborn teams.

One wee question… how on earth can we invest in the team when we are under the fifa fair play watchdog for spending too much on players!?
I really cannot fathom how certain supporters cannot grasp this … then I say … of course it’s the west of Scotland.

2.) 23 Oct 2022 15:14:36
exactly molsgoals how dare u be so sensible.

3.) 23 Oct 2022 15:23:43
Exactly Mols and folk also conveniently forget that millions of pounds were given to Gio to buy Colak, Matondo, Yilmaz, Davies and yes Lawrence was free but him and his agent would have been paid very large sums of money to get him here. let's not let the truth get in the way of a good moan.

4.) 23 Oct 2022 16:16:37
3cheers we have wasted too much money.

5.) 23 Oct 2022 16:23:22
There are always ways round the Fair Play Rules, investment, ent can be through major Marketing Deals that bring in substantial Funds as just one example. The most easy way to do that is for Board Member's Companies to pay for Corporate Advertising.
Investing in recruitment emphasises a greater need to find the right player if you are not able to spend serious monies. I would suggest that the signing of Yilmaz was not to improve the Team but was more on the assumption that he would be sold tab a significant profit short term. Matondo as with Sakala, was a strange one as was the signing of Souttar who is perennially injured!
Scouting needs to be better.
You can take this as a moan if you like but I for one don't want to spend the next five or six seasons sitting behind Celtic and watching them pulling further and further away from us. That for me is the problem with the current Board!

I agree storm that money has been wasted on sub standard players but that has nothing to do with the board that's Gio and Wilson's department. Folk saying that Gio has not been backed are deluded as he has been given millions.

7.) 23 Oct 2022 17:38:50
If you think gio was after players like soutter and sakala then your deluded board signings they are lol a fit soutter is a very good player tho but he’s never fit.

Were the board treating the club as a business when they pumped in many £m’s of their own money with little chance of getting it back ever?

I’m of the opinion that those calling for the board to be deposed should put it in writing along with a cheque for £50000 to put their money where their mouth is. In return, they get a season ticket foc for the next 5 years.

Who’s first?

Disagreed with a previous post that Gio has lost the dressing room. someone convince me otherwise please as there is no spirit in this team.

hate to say it but something looks wrong to me.

2.) 07 Sep 2022 20:05:17
The directors must take most responsibility - big transfer fees came in plus champions league with £30-£40 m yet don't sign a couple of players? WTF- where's the money been used- to pay interest on loans from directors? . Park and co need to take a close look at themselves.

Big davie weir was still putting in better performances than goldson when he was 40 and I'm not joking btw.

Good point John ref any delay and that would make sense in that scenario as to why the board would keep Gio on. I suppose we shall see what happens but I still don't think its good management from the board to keep him on if he is getting sacked effectively. At times recently he seemed to struggle to get full effort from the players, imagine what they would be like if they knew he was going and he's trying to motivate them and then the fans turn, I just can't see the board leaving him and themselves open to that.

John it wouldn't be McCallum for me, who it is I don't know pal. I would love someone that has some level of experience, someone that the players will react to as we can't go dropping many more points. I see some people in the past say Thomson and McCann, as an interim that could be a possible option. Ideally we get the new manager in asap and don't need an interim as for me they don't really work out that well.
Keep us updated though please as I'll be glued to here now looking for more from you to see the latest.

I don't question your info John and respect it but keeping him on for the St Mirren game makes no sense at all. If the board decide he is to go then he should be gone by tomorrow and let an interim team in until a replacement can me found.

I think it would be great. Club profile would go up, more investment, more income which would lead to better players. however, I don't think UEFA and FIFA will not take it lying down. They will remove players right to play in their tournaments whilst involved with the breakaway league so a lot of the top players will not want that, more so the international side of things. If they can get an agreement in place where they can play for their countries then that would be excellent but I don't see that happening.

I'm all for VAR. but it needs to be used properly. Given how poor our officials are up here I don't really hold out much hope for it I'm afraid especially when you see some crazy crazy decisions down south.
Despite that I do think it adds some drama to the game and think they get more correct decisions than wrong so in the end it's a good thing.

I'm with a few others, I don't think Beale is the man to take us forward. Big problem is Wilson will still be dictating the transfers, until he goes there is still a problem there also.

I also like VAR and would much rather wait 3,4 or 5 mins for the correct decision than be raging for days or weeks at the wrong one given that costs us points.
I like the anticipation of when an incident is reviewed, I enjoy the high of a goal then the trepidation of the review and then the relief and high again if it being approved, or when a decision gets overturned in your favour to correct the refs mistake.
Yes, it could be quicker and I'll also say that the offside rule needs looked at but for the the technology works.

Agree on Tillman bankie, I thought he was actually having a fairly decent game and had just said to my mate then he gets taken off, for Wright as no 10, WTF.
The lad does have talent, unfortunately he may never fulfill his potential in our league against the low block as he can be a bit lazy at times and could drift into the mould of being one of these players who becomes a luxury player if he doesn't put the effort in.
