Looks like we are going to get a invite along with the Puddle Drinkers to this new European Super League if the courts approve it.
What everyone's thought on this?

On current form don't fancy getting pumped every week.

As long as financially the rewards where worthwhile but I wonder if no English clubs what int will be. We do need to get more income if the club are to ever grow.

Hope its True,

I'd be up for it. We are too big an institution for us to ever be where we should in Scotland.

I'd take weekly games Vs Ajax, Juve and Barcelona over Ross County and Killie any day of the week.

As long as there is no relegation at least at the start because the first season or so could look a bit ugly ?.

I think it would be great. Club profile would go up, more investment, more income which would lead to better players. however, I don't think UEFA and FIFA will not take it lying down. They will remove players right to play in their tournaments whilst involved with the breakaway league so a lot of the top players will not want that, more so the international side of things. If they can get an agreement in place where they can play for their countries then that would be excellent but I don't see that happening.

28 Oct 2022 15:49:27
If it ever got any legs this new super league it would only be good for us as if we get invited, there is no doubt that the English FA would counter offer us to join the EPL, no doubt both teams joining either would benefit us and the respective league.

Don't know how UEFA can't come up with a similar alternative that gives promotion/ relegation options.

Maybe a 3 or 4 tier actual European League system than cups with more teams involved and more money filtering down to the domestic teams in national leagues.

With a couple of European or even better global cups each year with national clubs having a chance to qualify similar to now.

We'd have as good a chance as anyone in a league like that as the money and commercial opportunities would be huge.

Can't see it happening tho.

Not going to happen.

10.) 28 Oct 2022
28 oct 2022 16:17:37
this been talked about since i stopped 30 odd years ago

will it ever happen? god knows.

11.) 28 Oct 2022

A "European league" is just about one of the worst things that could happen to this club. The last 2 months alone have shown that. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the competitions we play in. If you'd rather join a European league and stop winning any competition of any sort, then your opinion totally baffles me.

12.) 28 Oct 2022
28 Oct 2022 18:24:30
The money is there for UEFA to offer the same cash as the super league but they are corrupt like fifa and take huge amounts of money for doing f##k all would be happy if we had f##k all to do with fifa and UEFA again fifa has a average wage bill of 240k a year for employees the fifa president is on just shy of £3million the UEFA president will be
On around £2.4 million this year and that’s before there bribes are they worth that money should clubs not be able to decide what competition they play in or that way there is no competition for fifa and uefa they have a monopoly and in any other industry would more than likely be illegal.

13.) 28 Oct 2022
28 Oct 2022 19:44:28
Don’t think it will happen but even if it does the epl will not invite us down there like one poster said.

14.) 28 Oct 2022
28 oct 2022 21:12:17
it’s called expansion tj

and would be a godsend to rangers and celtic

unless you want to play against livingston forever.

15.) 28 Oct 2022
28 Oct 2022 22:33:05
People were up in arms at the thought of Tottenham being involved the last time after the way we have played every team in Europe would go mental. Isn't going to happen it's local press trying to make up stories but in reality people in Europe are not interested in the old firm. The money would be great and young players would develop to foden and sterling standard but it will not happen, certainly not for Scottish teams.

16.) 29 Oct 2022
28 Oct 2022 23:58:25
There has always been talk of this and it's always been a fantasy in the past.

Now I am not so sure.

All the major clubs in Europe (without a sheikh) are struggling to keep up with the money the English are getting. I think this looks inevitable now and when it happens we should definitely be involved.

Only problem I would have is I would want there to be a relegation and promotion, I am not sure clubs included would want that but it would lack integrity without it.

17.) 29 Oct 2022
28 Oct 2022 23:59:23
Oooh storm with more digs get a grip and Livi bear or anyone else, aye with our current team we'd get beaten but with being in a super league or English league we'd obviously get more so it's irrelevant about how good we are just now and I'm sure would draw huge investment.

18.) 29 Oct 2022
29 oct 2022 03:42:51
anyone thinking rangers and celtic ( and the fans who know what they’re talking about )

would be in without a doubt, been spoken about for years and a widening worldmeansof course something will happen

rangers, celtic and a few other european clubs are massive, they are not going to sit back forever and watch english giants earn billions while buying every good player

this will happen, be in no doubt, it will happen soon

massive institutions like rangers and celtic fight a battle to stay afloat

celtic have the certainty of hidden irish support, rangers haveus fans only, but both are massive clubs

it will happen alright and many clubs in europe can’t wait.

19.) 29 Oct 2022
29 Oct 2022 04:22:06
There was talks or rangers Celtic Ajax and other
Clubs setting up there own competition years ago as they where fed up of the champions league if rangers and Celtic do leave the spfl will collapse.

20.) 29 Oct 2022
29 Oct 2022 07:23:51
Twisted I'd love use to be in there but the reality is people don't care about history your only as good as your last shift. If we got asked to join I'm pretty sure every European club that didn't get asked would be using us as their wtf example plus the top sides and league's are pretty aloof when looking at us do you think they would want us in there.

21.) 29 Oct 2022
29 Oct 2022 08:01:27
TWisted that ain’t a dig that’s just my opinion epl don’t and never want us but you seem to think different.

22.) 29 Oct 2022
29 Oct 2022 09:11:06
What a loss of garbage. Who would want us. Why live in fantasy land when we have a mountain of problems to overcome. Was already mooted before and Celtic not us would get invited. What’s up with you people. Our standing in Europe is at a all time low and our continuing arrogance to think European clubs hold us in high regard, no.

23.) 29 Oct 2022
29 Oct 2022 10:40:55
If this does go ahead and the big English clubs go this could be our ticket into English football. I would rather play down south where we stand a chance of winning and being successful than going into a European league that we become the whipping boys of the big guns.

24.) 29 Oct 2022
29 Oct 2022 11:57:45
We can barely win anything in Scotland in recent times and people on here want us to go to a super league. It’s no happening regardless a how big our club is lol.

25.) 29 Oct 2022
29 Oct 2022 12:33:19
A super league is going to happen at somepoint. As soon as the wheels were in motion. Whether sooner or later i don't know but it will happen.

26.) 29 Oct 2022
29 Oct 2022 13:25:02
A super League in some form will happen. When top teams in Spain and Italy are struggling to compete with the EPL it's a near certainty. The fact the English are dead against it is because it will break their monopoly on the game and so it should. It is very important that any such league is not a closed shop though and there should be promotion/ relegation. We would look nothing like we do now in terms of personnel (unless the board pocket the cash they have recently) .

27.) 29 Oct 2022
29 Oct 2022 14:19:40
Expansion? To go and join leagues that look down and laugh at us? With bloody money and likely hardly win anything? No thanks. If it isn't broken, it doesn't need fixed. Dunno if you know this Tom, we're a Scottish club. We should therefore be playing in scotland x.

28.) 29 Oct 2022
29 oct 2022 15:08:37
dunno if you know anything mate

duncan ferguson is just a thug, , but he’s been highly regarded player, coach assistant manager and stand in manager at one of the premierships iconic clubs and regarded as a hero

rangers are looked down on by other european clubs, really

most would chop they’re arm off to be as successful as both old firm clubs, for support, history, size, potential, the list goes on

i don’t think you actually understand how big this club you proclaim to follow is

or anything else about the old firms history or size.

29.) 29 Oct 2022
29 Oct 2022 15:58:33
Wont happen. there will be a buy in of silly money, and we wouldn't be able to raise the necessary AND buy a team capable of not being embarrassed every week.

30.) 29 Oct 2022
29 oct 2022 16:35:14
the rest of europe are not going to stand by and watch city, liverpool, chelsea, utd real, bayern and barcelona play out they’re own

who bought the richest player cup every year

something is bound to happen, and rangers and celtic will be amongst the first invited, be assured of that.

31.) 29 Oct 2022
29 Oct 2022 18:03:44
Well storm there was a vote in 2008 or 2009 that suggested some people definitely wanted us down there, yeah the vote ultimately didn't go in our favour but I said we would be offered a way never said it would be as simple as just leaving though.

32.) 30 Oct 2022
30 Oct 2022 00:32:50
Would be a total disgrace. If you want a sanitised, soulless sporting experience then go watch the franchise stuff in America. Rangers are a Scottish club with tradition and community. The Super League is the total opposite of everything football is supposed to be about. Having a league with no history, no stakes (regarding relegation or progress into a continental competition) is surely not what you all really want? The same pool of players passing between the Super League clubs, no roots in Scottish football and realistically never winning anything. Anyone pro-Super League is anti-football and I don't mean Davie Weir vs Barcelona.

33.) 30 Oct 2022
30 Oct 2022 00:48:13
I'd love to see something like this, provided we can retain a Colt team in the Scottish game.

34.) 30 Oct 2022
30 Oct 2022 07:49:07
All you need to do is look at LIV Golf and the current bun fight with the PGA. Eventually, the PGA will have to accept the change or risk losing all the elite golfers. UEFA have had it their own way for too long.

35.) 31 Oct 2022
31 Oct 2022 12:40:30
The sooner Rangers and Celtic leave Scottish Football the better and whether it is a European League or England is irrelevant. Scotland is a backwater in footballing terms and if our departure was the end o Scottish Football then so be it.
