Bisgrove et al not ruling out another ‘development’ type appointment but have consulted with ‘football men’ in respect to a seasoned appointment.

McInnes will be in the three man shortlist with his previous rebuff left behind with the sour taste, Park and the cronies of the old board. Expect a planted story leaked to the press to gauge fan reception of McInnes being touted again.

Jansen is a risk - less experienced than GVB in terms of top tier/ first team management. Plays better football however.

Lampard is all smoke and mirrors - the club are not interested.

Clement is agent talk - trying to get his man back in a top tier job.

Ryan Lowe is paper talk trying to increase his stock - does not possess what rangers need.

The current concern is the lack of pull for a recognised, experienced manager to be appointees and the fans do their talking with their feet.

So MCinness or Jannson so long as the fans don't revolt over mcinness.

2.) 04 Oct 2023 17:10:02
D star interesting update.

3.) 04 Oct 2023 17:48:12
Worrying if true. McInnes is a serial failure and would show little or no ambition on the part of the Board. I can't see our fan base being happy with such an appointment.

4.) 04 oct 2023 18:51:27
i don't believe that the next manager is any of the 5 names mentioned every 5 mins. i expect them to take they're time and the whole world is they're pool imo.

5.) 04 Oct 2023 20:28:32
New poster shares info ???.

6.) 04 Oct 2023 20:40:36
Otter what can I say … you would have been a first time poster once upon a time. Keep your eyes on it - as an ex staff member and current ST holder I want the club in best hands but I have no idea what that looks like these days after everything we have endured.

7.) 04 Oct 2023 20:55:29
My money would be on Muscat, proven by their manager that the style of football can work in spl, good to watch after its been worked on, rae has been appointed as a coach and is am ex team mate of his, Craig Moore recebtlt touting him. Also after watching a couple of his interviews he comes across as someone who will get respecr from the players and do anything to be a winner, he's in a league that's very even and he has had them pushing flr the title every year.

8.) 04 Oct 2023 21:06:39
They don`t need to plant a story, the fans don`t want McInnes and not because he rebuffed us before, he wasn`t wanted by us even then. The reason is his terrible style of play and his cowering down in front of Celtic during his time at Aberdeen . If Bennett is even considering this he is showing that he is out of touch with the fan base, which for a guy who claims to be a Rangers man, is very worrying.

Ex staff member lol

Lol technically I'm an ex rangers staff member means feck all in world of info unless you in club with the people in the know.

10.) 05 Oct 2023 02:00:34
Goforbig, I am also a former member of staff and I believe there are more on here than just us, and you are right, it means nothing unless you are VERY senior. I have known coaches and scouts who were thought of as ITK by many, but like me they knew hardly anything.

Having worked in the youth setup for a decade doesn’t give me any scope or advantage at posting a rumour - exercising your own ego to try and dampen a ‘rumour’ is pitiful btw. *As an ex member of staff and season ticket holder I want the club on best hands* what part of that implies that I have an advantage over anyone else? For gers fans you are far too eager to try make a see u next Tuesday of fellow bears.

OWS - we must appoint a manager with experience such as Clement, Muscat, or Glasner but in no particular order.

We all know the papers talk p*** but once thing seems to stand out about Clement - he takes no s*** and has no reservations about dropping players for underperforming and/ or attitude.

I have a feeling our unbenchables may get their knickers in a twist and look for the January exit now that the old boys club is dust.

Looking forward to the presser today.

Do we think that Clement has the mentality to;

1. Change the Captain.
2. Potentially move Tav further up, into a RM / RW position.

My personal view on things;

1. I feel like if he does, Tav will have all that added weight on his shoulders removed, and we will hopefully start to see the 2020/ 2021 Tav. Saying that, he may take umberage to losing the Captaincy and look for an out. Although I think his love for the Club runs deeper than an armband!

2. I personally think we get caught out far too frequently at RB, and that's not a dig, as i'm grateful for everything Tav contributes. That being said though, I feel that we lack in the RM / RW position, which is tailor made to suit Tav. With him being removed of "most" of his defensive duties, it would allow young Devine to progress and also allow for better cover in that position as a whole. - This is based on the assumption that Clement will stick with a Back four though!

2.) 17 Oct 2023 12:44:35
I bet that the guys that get slagged off on here will still be mainstays of the side at least until the summer. One simple reason, there is no one better at the club to replace them . I think, if fans are expecting, lots of the old guard to be discarded by Clement, they are going to be disappointed.

3.) 17 Oct 2023 12:53:12
I've said for a while that there has been a few that have been a stick on. Hopefully now they have prove themselves for a place. I'm looking forward to a new start. I know it won't be instant but clean slates and see where we are. Bon chance Monsieur Clement, Allez les Bleu!

4.) 17 Oct 2023 13:52:44
Tavs best play going forward is runs from deep and arriving late in the box he's not a RW so there's absolutely zero chance of that he would become so ineffective that way.

5.) 17 Oct 2023 14:27:47
It helps if you can pass the ball 5 yard's.

6.) 17 Oct 2023 14:30:35
Think the only way tav could change position would be if we played a back 3.
I have always wondered why he couldn’t play the rw position but people have said he doesn’t play with back to goal to hold ball up and turn etc.
he’s best at running onto the ball and using power and pace to beat players.

I do think it would have been worth trying him in a more advanced role but it seems that ship has sailed.

If u don’t try it u will never know.

7.) 17 oct 2023 16:19:44
one things certain, if tav was moved to midfield he would be caught out even more.

8.) 18 Oct 2023 08:33:48
Starting to see a reoccurring theme to your posts boo hoo although I’ve always had suspicions.

Could it be Souness or McLeish?

Souness rumoured to be aiding the manager selection process and the latter bumping his gums about what Rangers need, name dropping former players for assistant roles?

Rumbling on the old social media saying the stadium tour was routed around the press room due to preparations for a Friday announcement - all likely a component in the bubbling hysteria but I’m sure we would all like the weekend to come in with something on our new manager.

Famous - why would Michael Beale look at English players he worked with at youth level?

It’s not my blind assumption but a collective with the muskat connection.

I don’t see us ever scouting anywhere outwith England, Italy, Holland and Belgium in the last few seasons.

Hearing much the same re: Clement and Muscat.

The trading model that Mr Bisgrove had been vocal about is a key factor in the decisions to be made. The whole Muscat argument we’ve all read here about tapping into the Asian market for players like Ange etc is more valid for Bisgrove’s vision but not said to be the deciding factor.

The Clement appointment would supersede a DOF appointment. Giving him time to work with lathe tools he has with the DOF in before January as Clement is the opposite of Beale in regards to player recruitment.

Either man doing well fits in with the trading model if a more financially blessed team from south of the border fancy them after a good season or two.

All in all. I’ll be chuffed with either of these men in the brogues, scarf held overhead.
