Too many on here John who show absolute snobbery when it comes to certain players, you only have to look at the likes of Lawrence Shankland, if he was called Cyriel before we knew how bad Cyriel was everyone would be waxing lyrical, they forget we built some good teams around guys who were from teams like Killie, Hearts, Hibs, even Dundee Utd but now, if the name isn’t exotic it’s no good then they moan when we splurge on dross like Lammers and Dessers! You only need to look across the city at that lot taking punts on the likes of O’Reilly from MK Dons and Hooper from Scunthorpe to realise that not everyone from a lower league is always going to be a dud! Lammers and Desser were meant to be the next big thing because they played in Serie A and Eridivisie, time and time again supporters turn their nose up at players, especially in the SPFL, who could very much do a good job if not a great job for us!

My two sons live down in Plymouth and the eldest is a season ticket holder.
I have been to a few games with him this season and the general consensus amongst the fans was that he is very hot and cold. Sometimes he is non existent for games and there was a lot of frustration when he was playing against Stoke when Argyle scored a 96th min winner.
Plymouth broke the bank to sign him for only £1m with a 25% sell on clause for Swansea. Seemingly the interest from us was not strong and tentative enquiry.
Wish him well but £10m valuation is grossly inflated for him. More like £3-£4m tops.

Incorrect. Plymouth paid £1m for him with a 25% sell on. We were never fully interested in signing Whittaker. Hence the reason no concrete but was forthcoming from us.
Just had a good chat with the eldest. He is convinced that Argyle may even reject the £10m if it’s forthcoming… mind boggling the prices for players in England.

Can’t remember many people rubbishing him ? as his fee wasn’t too big just the manager didn’t want to sell to us was it not?
His numbers and performances on loan were decent too
