Is it true Kent has knocked back the latest contract offer and has decided to seek new club in January?

Needs to show a consistent level of performance. Honestly don't see him as a premiership player at this moment in time. Very capable but doesn't seem to have the mentality or confidence to kick on.

Yes looks that way. On positive side should mean he’s focused and makes a big contribution at Liverpool on Tuesday. Great goal and assist yesterday. I’d rather he leaves in January for a fair fee rather than hang around till the summer and leave for free.

I believe that since we brought pitches in back in the 80's we have played a more central style of football with our full backs being the ones to bomb forward. That apart from Brian laudrup who was special and more than a winger, Neil McCann who did go through the middle a lot all other wingers have looked hit and miss. Kent and Candeias have looked the best and that has been down to their high work rate in coming back and helping the fullbacks. We may look back at certain bits of lovenkrands, kanchelskis, Burke or hustria but over all they only produced in patches and played when they wanted a new contract. A lot of the time if we went back to a week in the past when they were players and picked a team they wouldn't be in it. YouTube can let us look and players and think they are amazing before we buy but it can alter our memories of days gone buy and think I wish we still had that players playing. Kent is no cooper, Wilson, Henderson or laudrup but he gives much more than any winger we have had since McCann was in the side. I hope he stays and I'd love to see a manager encourage him to be more direct. Either go direct or release the ball there is no point dribbling back up to your own half.
