Having seen McCann a couple of times, I would like to see him play, on loan if not going to get many opportunities at the moment for us… definitely one for the future… great composure for young man.

I was actually expecting him to play regular during the second half of the season, I guess he could if we have a recall option. I know he didn’t play for long last night but he was the best of the kids when he was on the park. He’s going to be a very good player.

Dado totally agree. I’d keep him and play him before and after Europe ties given he is not eligible as a youth player for us.

However Europe experience with hearts could be big part of his development.

There’s far too many midfielders at Rangers. We shouldn’t have kept Steven Davis on. If we didn’t, maybe McCann could’ve had his spot in the first-team squad this season. Not sure why McGregor is still here when McRorie is a more than capable backup either.

McCann should be kept and get integrated into the first team, he didn`t come up here from Man Utd to play two seasons of B team football and then be loaned out to a wee diddy team in Scotland. We have ruined too many youngsters by doing this and McCann like Lowry and King shouldn`t have to drop to this level. Besides weren`t Hearts and Neilson really awkward when we tried to sign Souttar in January, so give them nothing.

Watching Davis just a couple of times this season confirms to me just why he was kept on at Rangers, he is still a class act with bundles of energy, guile, awareness, leadership and skill. Imagine anyone suggesting that such a player should have been released!
McCann is now ready to be integrated into the first team squad. We need to offload about six players (Helander, Roofe, Sakala, Katic, etc) to free up room for real talent like King, Lowry, McCann etc. We've invested well in our youth, time to fully realise their potential. And having the likes of Steve Davis around can only help the transition.

Helander, Roofe, Sakala, nor Katic occupy the same positions as that of McCann and Lowry. Davis occupies, and is currently blocking the route to the first-team, for McCann. It seems we can’t have both at the club at the same time because McCann is being loaned out again, while Davis remains for regular game time.

Keeping McGregor for an additional season might have cost us McCrorie who may not sign a new contract because of it. McCrorie is already getting on the bench for the Scotland international team and would’ve done a job as backup to McLaughlin. We’l just need to trust the management.

I think McCann will leave if he has any sense and hopefully come back in the future. Ranger are horrendous at developing our own players they never get a chance Lowry more than deserved a shot last year or start of this season. McCann has been consistent and not looked outta place when playing with first team.

The young players are being giving a chance, if King, McCann and Lowry stay I think all 3 of them will be involved in 15/ 20 games this season. Patterson and Bassey both got game time and I know Bassey wasn’t a youth player but we signed him when he was young and he got a chance.

McCann is a quality young player and I would certainly prefer him to be ahead of Jack who is seriously injury prone and doesn't look fit for a place in the Squad. Davis only has a season to go and surely it would be better using that time for him to help develop McCann rather than sending McCann out on loan to one of our main competitors. We are not exactly over endowed with a quality squad. Yes it is a big squad but there is still a lack of quality if we are not planning to bring players in. McCann is someone that we should have in the squad, ready to step in if Davis or Kamara are injured.

to be fair to hearts and neilson, he isn’t employed to assist rangers, his job is to ensure hearts finish in as high a position as possible, we certainly can’t blame neilson for rangers not getting soutter, nor say that they were “ awkward “, they gave rangers a price for taking their central defender, rangers said no, hardly them being awkward.

Tough one, would really like to see McCann stay and force his way in but if there is a guarantee of game time at Hearts then seems to be the better option for him and us. Would love to see him back in January ready to stake a claim in first team.

Bassey lower played like 4 maybe 5 games and scored like 3 goals and a couple assists and a couple man of match awards what does it say to youth if you come in and do well and get dropped following week. If we are not going to play them we should let them go be honest with them and tell them we will keep an eye on them for future. Instead we will make guys like Lowry and others in squad bitter and they will realise there is just no realistic route to the first team some of our best players would never have got a run in team if not for belief of a coach barry Ferguson for one was disheartened under Smith came in same as Lowry played blinder alongside Ian Ferguson and was dropped out pronto even though played well took advocate reassurance that he was going to start to keep him. I fear we might be missing an opportunity to develope a young rangers supporter that could be in the team for years to come.
