Matondo about to sign for Coventry loan with option to buy.

Not a good deal. He'll not want to stay with that club. He'll be injured and returned.

£2m option, Lampard the manager, if he plays for the last few month and has an impact we might knock it off. We've seen when he's fit and plays especially from the bench he has a lot of quality.

Personally don't overly rate him but I think that's due to being unavailable so much.

GDog, that's a bizarre take.

Totally agree with GDog, once they get a look at him close up he will be returned to us in the summer and we will be looking for another buyer . It saves wages but what we really want is a straight sale or an obligation to buy.

Gdog tell us what you would have done,

Coventry will suit him, big pitch and teams not in low block, if stays fit he will do alright and the rest of the league will get a look at him first hand.

What's wrong with Coventry? They've been pretty good last few years. What do you seriously think Matondo's level is and do you not think he is now at the stage where he's going to where he should be level wise? still a lot to prove for me even at Coventry.

Gets the 30k wage down while he's away. Anyone saying not a good deal is talking nonsense.

What is wrong with you, GDOG? ?.

Good move for him. Lampard's got them playing well and think he'll suit their style of play.

Also £2m is a drop in the ocean for them, so good chance of it becoming permanent.

90% of the time Matondo has been really poor not sure he will be bought either but wage saving is something I suppose ??????.

Not exactly sure what more you can want, It's not like his Injury history isn't known. We are desperate to sell him. What power in this transfer do we really have?

Great one from the club.

I'm with gdog. We should sell him to Madrid this window. Cash up front with 30% sell on.

Yeah am I not right in saying they have had a lot of investment recently?

He'll have plenty of space to exploit in that league and I think could be a good move for him.

Like we've found out with our loans if he performs well, even if Coventry don't want him he will gather suitors.

Fingers crossed he gets enough game time and tempts an EFL team to take a punt on him. He's got qualities, but is never going to be the answer for us. Good luck to him.

As long as the loan means they are paying 100% of his wages then it's a good deal, the championship will suit him as way more room and I'm glad he is away. Just been a total waste of a wage.

BBJ there is no way on earth they are paying all his wages.

22 Jan 2025 21:22:50
Ive missed his 'quality' when did it happen?

19.) 22 Jan 2025
22 Jan 2025 22:15:55
Someone posted elsewhere it's being reported down there 30% of wages covered.

Quality finish against them M Mills and bits of quality is some games but not nearly enough but think he'll do well in the championship.

21.) 23 Jan 2025
23 Jan 2025 10:47:02
Well if they ain't covering his wages it should be obligation to buy surely.

My star he doesn't even know how to use his pace and his first touch is like a clearance, Schalke spaffed £11m on him that should have been a warning, he might cut it at div 1 down there but I think he's a problem ongoing for us .
