I'll always go to every game and back the players and manager, however it would be dishonest of me to say that i'm not really concerned about what i watched today. I'm not buying the new players geling excuse either, Kilmarnock had 8 new players in that line-up today and they at least looked as if they had a gameplan. i'm not even sure what we are actually trying to achieve going forward at times, its either 5 passes between defenders then a floated ball over the top or a hopeful cross to no one at the first oppurtunity. We badly need to upgrade that defence or we won't be winning a single thing this season, Barisic still being there and not having a single left sided centre half (which cost us the goal imo) at this stage is ludicrous.

Of the new signings nothing Butland could have done as Souttar should have cleared that into row Z, Sima has potential and surprised me with his pace and his cheeky passes but think they will join up in time to the other forwards, Dessert needs to keep his head up when he runs and needs to lace the ball as dunno what he was doing at times taking his time, Dowell done okay, Lammers tried but should have been up top and Danilo wasn't given enough time to make a real difference. The playing with 6 strikers eventually was ridiculous and we nearly got caught out again twice after the goal and there was no structure. Ultimately the team just feels unbalanced and felt like strangers playing for the first time together.

It's hardly a surprise at the frustration of some posts following that poor showing last night. Tactics, shape, level of performance were all poor but my main concern was the lack of fight shown by some players. The new lads should now know they won't get time or space away from home nor will they be playing against attack minded teams week in week out. There are some glaring reasons why people are doubting
We look exact same as preseason Beale learned nothing from those games
Our defense was the problem last year only need to look at goals conceded and champions league results to see that.
Yet we brought in 4 forwards when the forwards and team we had scored more goals last season than title winning season yet we concede 34 goals last season compared to about 13 winning season?
We got 4 strikers who's total goals don't amount to kyogos total season tally not even close ten goals behind then we draw a blank surprise surprise
I warned people we should be keeping colak and sakala to give time to bed players in we were playing well towards end of last season and he tore it up ?.
Nearly every fan could see we needed pace.
And for me forcing sakala out the door goes against everything our club should stand for. Especially when guy gives us his all.
Beale watched that game for 45 min no ideas from team dessers slow no impact or real team involvement lundstrum and raskin not working together killie still got through too easily with two holding players Tav was doing nothing Sima is ok centrally but slows the game down when wide which any fool can see.
Still beale does nothing instead waits to 60th Min same as Gerrard and Warburton
Remember Walter Smith or advocaat or souness who If it wasn't good enough he would let players know by changing it.

I am a Rangers fan for over 50 years and I do question the manager and some of the new players. I have learned over the years not to write off players too early but the collective lack of ideas, thought and effort yesterday sets them all up for criticism. I was not in favour of Beale getting the job, he is another inexperienced gamble by the board and apart from Gerrard they have all fallen flat on their faces. To leave Cantwell out of the team yesterday is indefensible, to leave out Danilo who has played lots of pre season games and pick Dessers who, both he and the manager, admitted was behind the others fitness wise is also ridiculous. He is playing people out of position to get them all in the team and as a result we have been a shambles in the friendlies and again yesterday. that's a fact.

Only time will tell whether Beale has what it takes or not but there is not getting away from the fact that his tactics and his team selection yesterday was wrong. He said before the game that he would be more attacking and then he plays Lundstram instead of Cantwell. He might as well have gone with 10 men.
What is more, he still has the same poor defence as he had last year and I worry to think what sort of shambles they would be without Goldson and Butland.
He needs a big victory on Wednesday followed b a goal spree at Ibrox at the weekend.
He could also do with bringing in a new left sided centre back and a winger.
I'm not going to criticise the players but Beale has to carry the can for that shambles.

Goforbig I think it’s too early to question it because it’s one competitive game into a season with 9 new players just in the door who wether we like it or not, will completely disrupt the entire squad as they take time to settle into the club, the city and the culture and to form relationships on the field with their new team mates. Anyone that’s played football at a decent level knows how difficult it is when you first join a new team and that it takes time to form relationships and link up play. Look at their first lot of games under Ange they wanted him gone then suddenly it all comes together. I agree with the concerns regarding the defence but last year we hardly had a settled back four, hopefully this year we will and I have full belief in Souttar and Goldson who are only now getting the chance to form their own partnership aswell. With Tav it’s the same every year and he always proves the doubters wrong. Barisic and LB in general definitely needs looked at and another CB in but we aren’t finished in the market yet. If it doesn’t gel in time then fill your boots with criticism but for now i’m right behind Beale and the players wearing our jersey ??.

The money can’t be the issue if it’s as quoted, it must be the fine t&c’s on the contract re additional payments that causing problems. Ibtox44, the business circles I move in, having endless patience doesn’t necessarily win you contracts. So we wouldn’t be doing business. Problem is his/ LAFC history with Brighton last season (or season before? ) in similar situation when it fell apart and also media quotes referring to Cluf as one of if not the key transfer this season so far.
Realise there are discussions going on but for the money quoted and the social media bromance with supporters expected this at least confirmed earlier. There’s also the risk of injury on a key target that would be good business if that happened then wouldn’t it?

This team doesn’t have the bottle, the fight, the aggression, the ‘I’m f*cking winning this header/ tackle’ mentality. All over the park we lost our individual battles. Midfield was nowhere to be seen, Shinnie made to look a baller because no one got near him. We really miss Jack’s discipline in there to just stay central and win the ball. Barisic, Lundstram and Cifuentes are far too slow moving the ball. We need to earn the right to win first and foremost. We deserved nothing today and stole a point.

It is a sad indictment of our incoming transfer business that we are still depending on Jack! For far too long we have been signing players that neither have the ability, the fighting qualities or the winning mentality and I really don't see it changing any time soon.

As many of you will have seen I was hugely in favour of Kevin Muscat becoming our new manager.
I have to say i’ve been very impressed listening to Phillipe Clement. Seems to be a very honest, hard working individual with strong principals. I don’t think he’ll cut corners and I loved hearing him talk about the importance of hard work. Could be just the sort of guy this group needs to lift their confidence and bring them together like a proper team instead of 11 individuals. Can he turn this season around? Let’s hope so.

So Souness wasn’t offered a DOF role at the club, instead they offered him a “watered down ambassador role”, he went away and criticised the decision making and outlook of Bisgrove, Bennet and co, then gets asked to be involved in the process to interview a new manager which would be a process you’d expect a DOF to be heavily involved in? ? Highlighted my concerns regarding Beale before but seriously this group of players. ??♂️ getting a bit sick and tired seeing these photos and videos of this team smiling, joking and f*cking about in training and on their travels, only to deliver spineless performances like that. They’ve absolutely nothing to be smiling about right now they should be ashamed of themselves. Fans travelling and paying a fortune to watch that sh*te and they stand there clapping them at the end? Scott Arfield had more b*lls and fight than every single one of these imposters and when you don’t replace the character of guys like that throughout the squad at Rangers you are in big trouble. doesn’t matter what ability you have if you don’t have the mentality required you’ll never make it here. Even Daniel Candeias was 10 times a rangers player than this lot. They don’t deserve to set foot inside the training centre let alone Ibrox. I’d have them out to f*ck every day running sand dunes until they throw up. Playing poorly is one thing but not putting the effort in, NEVER acceptable. Feel bad for Souttar because although he’s made a few mistakes at least he tries to be positive and run with the ball, even if he does lose it the odd time i’d rather that than watching Davies Goldson and Barisic pass it between them ??♂️ Beale said Cifuentes was a player that could take us up a level. wow. the guy is a wasted jersey in there, never makes a challenge or puts his body on the line, ball watching constantly, looks like he’s miles off this standard of football. Noticed the same with Sima and Lammers too they’re absolute sh*te bags when challenging. So much for Beale looking these guys in the eye and seeing if they had what it takes. The less said about Dessers the better. What a mess we’re in. Fair play to any manager willing to come in to even attempt to fix this.

A lot more than I expected us to pay, other clubs involved obviously pushed the price up. Only makes sense if we’re buying a striker and winger too. To spend that this window and neglect those positions would be ridiculous.
