I'm not long after reading a podcast from Rangers review, talking about the new leaders and spine of our squad and with the age group so relatively young with a very good mindset. 👌 It's a good read fellow bears. 👍 As we all know by now, we got olwethu makhanya from Philadelphia Union for an absolute steal at £3million, as they wanted much more but makhanya's determination to come to Rangers, helped push through the deal. 👌
Philadelphia Union had witnessed moise bombito leaving the mls to Nice for big money, along Adilson Malanda leaving Charlotte FC to Middlesbrough for a big fee and wanted a bigger fee for makhanya gauged on these deals. 🤔 The podcast also reminded us that Middlesbrough wanted makhanya along with Wolves and other interested clubs but thankfully we got him, 🙏even though he wasn't our original no.1 target as that was diawara who we lost to AC Milan 🤔🇬🇧.

I must admit i really rate/like the big Canadian centre half Moise Bombito, but still wouldn't swap him for our own olwethu makhanya 🤔🇬🇧.

Coops there isn't a centre half the same age as Makhanya in the world that I'm aware of who I'd swap him for.

We need to enjoy watching him play while he's here, he keeps up this form and he won't be with us long, would love to keep him for a couple of seasons as I don't think we will sell him in January window especially if we're still in the hunt for the league.

Stevie_G_New, what a statement. i can think of 80 or more off top of my head from the FFL but there is easily 150+ young central defenders playing at a far higher level that Makhanya, valued far more too.

I joined that Euro Fantasy Football League at start of the season, you have to research most leagues, could do the same for every position to be fair. Back on point to say he wouldn't swap Makhanya for Vuskovic, Dean Huijsen, Jacquet , all 60-100 million they'd cost but none of them plays before Makhanya with no hint of sarcasm.

Not a snowball chance you would name 80 in one position off the top of your head, used for effect, but anyway, aye, Stevie still loses the plot now and then , there's probably more than a few better than Maka in Europe, quite a few more , we haven't won anything yet and still not top of the table, hopefully that changes very soon because that's the key putting huge pressure on them across the road, getting out there in front is absolutely crucial to our ambitions.

I'll add this though, makhanya could stroll the epl , al Liga etc
Just cause he's playing here doesn't automatically mean he's not as good as anyone
I firmly believe he's a world class defender and won't be here long.
We're seeing a player of real quality here who we will struggle to attract someone as good again.

Tom thanks mate. I remember Celtic fans raving about g about van dijk and how he was simply unbeatable and was this and that.
I didn’t really buy into it and look what he went and done.
I find myself how they were back then now about Makhanya.
This lad is top top drawer. There is no celiling dor this player. Watch and see , he’ll be at a top champions league team within a couple of years I’ll say 3-4 max and only cause he’ll go to a stepping stone club like Brighton or Dortmund first.
I can see him at an Arsenal or Liverpool
