I'm beginning to think we're going to lose out. I don't believe folk saying that the deal is not dependent on us selling players. Of course it is, why else would we not have signed him by now if it wasn't. You can't stock pile CMs.

If we lose out on this, John, it's not that's life. It shows our level and our actual pulling power. If we lose out on him, it's a big wake and smell the coffee to a lot of the fans.

It's not dependent on sales for the money.
It's dependent on sales for a bloated squad.
The only thing that will scupper this deal, imo, is we can't offload Dio and or Raskin.
We aren't going to bring in Dahl with Raskin and Dio not moved on.
That's why Dahl said it's going to be long into window before any deal is concluded.
It's also going to drag on as it's a WC year. It's always the same.
Patience is required and has nothing to do with our pulling power either. Nothing at all.

Alloa, I know our level. We have been losing out to the Cardiffs, Seansea, West Brom, and other perceived smaller clubs for years.
Some fans feel that minute we want a player that's it they will sign. Not how it works.

I think if we sign Dahl now without moving anyone, it will decrease their value because we will be needing to move players on. I also think not many bigger teams are after him, because they want to see how well he will do in Europe and gain more experience etc before committing to signing a player that might not get much game time, just like us sending players on loan.

This is what I think has happened.
Dhal wants to come.
The clubs have agreed a fee.
Rangers need to make space in the squad to have space for him.
So, need some midfielders sold first.
Once these things fall into place, he will be ours.
And there is a clause in the deal that if he's injured in the meantime, the deal doesn't go through.
Does that seem plausible?

Alloa Rangers aren't losing out to Cardiff, they're losing out to the fact we can't close the deal fast enough due to lack of movement on player sales. The player would obviously choose us over Cardiff, but he won't wait forever.
